?

Do you think Josh Smith could fit with the Rockets and fill our defensive void?

Atlanta wouldn't do either of those deals, IMO.

For all of Josh's faults (mostly mental) he happens to be one of the most dynamic two-way players in the league. From a pure skill standpoint, Odom is pretty much the only four across the league that can do all the things he can do. Atlanta is well aware of this. Even despite how promising Hill has looked at times, I highly doubt Atlanta is thinking 'salary dump' as a present 3/4 seed in the East -- since that's essentially what your Jeffries/Hill for Smith deal is.

As for Brooks for Bibby and first rounder, I doubt Atlanta would do that either due to the simple fact of Brooks' uncertain future. The notion of asking Atlanta to fork over two assets for a possible half season rental player isn't exactly the safest proposition.

I'm bored. Here's a trade I came up with just for the hell of it.

    Houston trades: Budinger, Jeffries, filler
Washington trades: Josh Howard, Yi, McGee

Washington does this in light of McGee's latest screw-up and to rid themselves of two guys with character issues (McGee, Howard) all the while saving a million bucks and creeping closer to getting under the cap.

Houston does this for obvious reasons: 1) Give McGee a fresh start in a role that suits him perfectly, 2) Acquire a proven scorer to solidify our bench in Howard and 3) Yi's Chinese influence (that LA loves so much) for half of a season.

    PG Brooks/Lowry/Ish
    SG Martin/Lee
    SF Battier/Howard/T-Will
    PF Scola/Hill/Yi/PP
    C Hayes/McGee/Miller/Yao

I think I would personally shoot Adelman if he continued to start 6'6" Chuck Hayes over 7'0" Javal McGee.

I'm a huge proponent of reducing the Chuckwagon's minutes (love the guy, though), but McGee is simply too much of an enigma. With the type of focus and motor issues he has it's hard to imagine Adelman not making him earn those minutes first.

Would we trade with LA Lakers

Here me out before you bash me, Trade Brooks, Jefferies and Battier and get Bynum back and a 1st rd Pick? It work in the trade checker and we all know Fisher is there weakest link!!!

That's exactly what we need, another big guy with an injury history for fans to wring their hands over.

Yeah he does have some injury issues but he is 23 and the injuries where a dislocated Knee cap and a partial torn ligament in his right knee, those are not Career Killers (aka 7'6 guys with bad feet or Ankles)

Yeah, the only reason they are successful with Bynum is because Gasol and Odom are reliable.

And the last thing we need is Brooks lighting us up in the playoffs like Artest did other teams. For the most part, you never really want to help the world champs (in your conference) from last year get better.

The other side to it is yes we are loosing a PG Brooks but we get another 1st and a Center who can play and start for us what another 6 to 8 years if we are luckly. Battier maybe has what 2 years left and Brooks is good scorer but he is on the small size will he be able to take the beating the Rose, Walls and all of these 6'4 6'3 PG who can pass and score. I think it is a fair gamble.

Two Trades I thought of wanted you guys input.
    Trade 1
Lakers Bynum and a 1st for
    Houston Brooks, Battier and Jefferies.

    Trade 2
    NJ Devon Harris
    Houston Jefferies and Brooks

I think gettin a yound Center or a young Tall PG is a must for us to contend in the future. LA needs a PG Fisher is getting old and watching Miami trash them may make them make a move. NJ is still dreaming of Anthony and this helps them get the deal done.

I think if we could pull either one of these I would rather get Harris. In our system he would be sick at least a double digit scorer who could easy with our cast get 5 Assist a night.
