It would be fine just take out scola and brand. I belive scola would kill brand he stats are better and hes younger and less injury prone

New Orleans is desperate.. they moved Collison for Ariza to show CP3 they're committed to winning. Since they're hot start, they've been awful -- including 3-7 over their last 10. Naturally, I fired up the trade machine to find a way to take advantage of their desperation. What I found was... they have ZERO assets. I mean nothing. I guess Marcus Thorton could have some value, but he's only getting 15MPG this year -- which makes me think he's not very good, despite his 3PT%. So then I figured, we could give up Battier (instant help) for someone with a bit longer contract and snag their 1st rounder from them (possible lottery? if not, 14-20 range). They really don't have any bad contracts that they would be looking to get rid of. Okafor's got a heft contract, but he's their only C and it would make them considerably worse dealing him. The only other guy with a 'bad' contract.. is probably Ariza. And I don't see us going down that path again.. Man, the Hornets are really screwed. Glad I'm not a fan of their team.
Theyre better off blowing up their team. They can stock up on picks, clear their payroll, sell their franchise, move to seattle while riding out the lockout season.
I think Denver would rather trade with NJ... Brand's contract is terrible and brooks will be a free agent requiring a large pay day.
Vince has a player option for next season. Given his age, if he can get a new contract above $8M for at least 3 years, it'll probably worth his time to get out his current contract. He's set to make $18M next season. T-Will is attractive to the Suns. Simply because Vince can leave. Sarver may even be hoping for that. Brooks + T-Will + 2Pat + Jeffries + J.Hill for→ Nash + G.Hill T-Will via Amare TE Gortat via Ariza TE Suns cut team salary by $6.47M this season. Far greater in future salary. Brooks, Dragic T-Will, Dudley, (Carter?) Childress, 2Pat, Jeffries Frye, Warrick, Lawal Lopez, Hill Nash, Lowry, Ish Martin, Lee Hill, Battier, Bud Scola, Hayes Gortat, Miller
Honest question Do you really think this is a championship roster or we can add pieces to make it one before Nash and Hill retire?
Hell to the no. That team is not a win now team, its a 'lets cripple our future for some has-beens that are playing late into their 30s'. Our issue is not offense, it is defense. We need to address our defensive issues in the middle while not taking on poor defenders. Some would argue that one of the reasons for the Rockets wins of late is the balanced defense from our backcourt. Can't see Brooks and Martin starting together successfully without an elite shotblocker in the middle (camby/dwight/bogut/etc) to address their defensive woes.
The Rockets are giving up any future franchise players? Unless you think they already have a LeBron, John Wall, etc who's ready to break out any time? If the Rockets draft their next franchise player, the team's going to get overhauled again. I wouldn't expect any of the current players on the team to be still here.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2eevavy Rockets get: Randolph + Chandler + Feilds + Carter Knicks get: Carmelo + Billups + Budinger + Balkman + Williams + Ish + their 2012 pick back. Nuggets get: Curry + Galliinari + Brooks + Turaif + Jeffries + Azubuike + NYK's 2011 #1 + 6 million (3 Knicks + 3 Rockets) Rockets: Hayes/Miller/Hill Scola/Randolph/Patterson Chandler/Battier/Williams Martin/Lee/Fields Lowry/Carter Knicks: Stoudemire/Mozgov Balkman/Williams Carmelo/Budinger/Williams Douglas/Walker/Mason/Rautins Billups/Felton Nuggets: Nene/Birdman/Turaif/Curry (cut)/Ely Harrington/KMart/Jeffries/Williams Gallinari/Azubuike/Forbes Smith/Afflalo Lawson/Brooks (And a ton of salary next year to go on a spending spree)
LoL yes sorry forgot to mention a pick from the rockets to both teams if necessary. There was no way to add it onto the trade through espn.
Personally I'd like to keep martin as scoring insurance off the bench if necessary but I see your point on adding length and athleticism. I'd do it at the expense of trade exceptions and cash considerations.
Nice thought and all but Cousin's in my opinion is not worth all of that. I'd rather trade for Green or Ibaka than take on Cousins or worse yet.....Brand.
I'd be scared of having little offensive fire power. I've been getting spoiled with Martin (having a GUARANTEED 20ppg) that even Iggy alone without him scares me. Brooks and Scola have more off nights combined than martin, so that's something to think about.

Actually, Vince doesn't have a player option. The final year of his contract (next season, at $18M) is only guaranteed for $4M. That is why he was able to be traded as a "quasi-expiring contract". Phoenix will most likely waive Vince on or before June 30, 2011 and pay him the $4M. Vince Carter will be a free agent on July 1, 2011. Book it.
All the Carmelo to NY or NJ talk got me thinking......if what Denver wants is cap relief and prospects/picks and Carmelo wants to go to a team that can contend.......why not Houston....he did mention Houston in the off-season. With that said and the fact that Orlando is desperate for some inside help what do you guys think of this deal......seems better for all involved than anything else Ive seen mentioned. Houston Gets: 1 - Carmelo Anthony 2 - Nene 3 - Al Harrington 4 - Ryan Anderson 5 - J.J. Redick Orlando Gets: 1 - Chris Anderson 2 - J.R. Smith 3 - Shelden Williams 4 - Renaldo Balkman 5 - Courtney Lee Denver Gets: 01 - Yao Ming - Expires 02 - Jared Jeffries - Expires 03 - Terrence Williams - Prospect 04 - Patrick Patterson - Prospect 05 - Earl Clark - Prospect 06 - Daniel Orton - Prospect 07 - Malik Allen - Expires/Filler 08 - Trade Exceptions of 13.7 Million Value 09 - 2 future 1st Rounders (1 apiece from Houston/Orlando) For Houston the reasons to make this trade are pretty obvious. We give up none of our veteran core just prospects and picks. A rotation like the following would be scarier than anything NJ or NY could put on the floor: PG - Brooks, Lowry, Smith SG - Martin, Battier, Redick SF - Anthony, Budinger, Harrington PF - Scola, Hill, Anderson PC - Nene, Miller, Hayes For Orlando they get a legit backup C in Anderson as well as Shelden Williams who provides more depth and can play PF as well. Balkman can play SF/PF and is something of a throw in but when given minutes has shown he can produce. Courtney Lee is a player Orlando really never wanted to move so getting him back is a big + for them as well. Not to mention moving Redick's longer deal which became redundant when they made the big trade and brought in all the wings last week. Denver IMO comes out of this deal better than any other scenario. Favors is a good prospect out of NJ but he alone cant compete with the talent Denver would bring in here. Not to mention the fact that other than Billups they move every single long term contract without taking a single one in which allows them to truly start the rebuilding process. Everyone wins here IMO.....what do you guys think ?
Put this in the wrong thread. It belongs here. Has anyone heard of Houston being interested in trading for Steve Nash? NBA Trade Rumors: Houston Rockets Could Use Steve Nash By Ryan Rudnansky on December 20, 2010 Despite Yao Ming apparently only being an apparition, the Rockets still have a lot of talent on the floor. Sitting one-and-a-half games behind the eight-seeded Trailblazers, the Rockets still have high-scorer Kevin Martin, and the always-dependable Luis Scola and Shane Battier. Kyle Lowry has been better-than-advertised, but he's still not the true floor general the Rockets would need in Ming's absence. Enter Steve Nash, a pro who would be good alongside Kevin Martin and the rest of the sturdy starting lineup. The Rockets would skyrocket up the standings with Nash at the helm. C'mon Nash, you know you wanna get outta Phoenix. There's nothing there but tumbleweeds now.
