Dude that Trade would be awesome!
    ......

However I think New Orleans might be getting the short end of the stick here. Even though they do shed Okafor's 'albatross' contract, their basically trading their franchise player for picks and cap relief... I think they would want a little more than that, but who knows. (IMO the 2011 NY rights to swap picks should go to N.Orleans to entice them a bit more)
    ......

Also we can't trade any picks of our own in 2011 because we traded our 2010 2nd rd pick and last time I checked your not allowed to trade picks back-to-back years.

However we do have the rights to swap picks with the Clippers in the 2nd rd of the 2011 NBA Draft, so you could trade that.

I like the trade either way but I would try to see if they would take David off our hands too, save us a lil more money.

Brooks + Battier + Hill + maybe Budinger (arm twisting involved) for Nash + Grant Hill?

Sweetners: Either future first round draft picks or rights to Llull and 3 million dollars max cash.

    Nash/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Hill/Ariza
    Scola/Hayes/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Jeffries

Why Houston does this: We get a perennial all-star and top 5 Point Guard in Nash who gets to the line and shoots at a remarkable efficiency both from the field and free throw line. I think we also will finally have that 2nd all-star paired with Yao. We also get an expiring contract in Hill, who also is a good team defender and great three point threat next to Yao. He shot a remarkable 43% from the three point line last season.

    Dragic/Brooks
    Richardson/ Budinger
    Childress/Battier/Dudley
    Turkoglu/Warrick
    Lopez/Fry/Hill

Why Phoenix does it: It seems as though Dragic has come into his own and I think their management with the new GM have welcomed the idea of handing over the keys to him. They get MIP, Brooks, who is a perfect compliment to Gentry's system. They also get younger and a chance to rebuild and still make the playoffs. They also get Budinger, who they were rumored to go hard after in the draft, who also happens to be a former Arizona Alum. They get an expiring contract in Battier who they can trade at the deadline to a contender for draft picks. Also Hill would be a part of their future frontline paired with Lopez in the future. We can also give them 3 million dollars cash considerations from Landry's trade exception, which a cheap owner like Sarver would salivate over, couple that with a potential lottery pick in 2011.

Giving up young talent like Brooks, Hill and Bud to get Nash and Grant Hill ... no thanks, dude! And you would like to give up cash + picks also?
What's the deal with swapping Battier for Grant Hill, both are expiring next summer? And Battier is still the better defender IMO ... If this goes down the Suns are the winner now and later!

I'd rather keep the guys that we have now on our roster, than do this trade!

Nash is still playing at a superstar level. Unless you think Brooks is ever going to develop into a top 10 player in this league you make that trade.

Hill is just as good a defender as Battier is except he's more versatile and contributes on both ends of the court.

Both these guys shoot around 50% FG%s.

I would j*zz in my pants if this happened but it's not likely IMO

I don't think indi would give up granger for only ariza and jack. maybe throw in jefferies or Anderson?

works out well for Toronto though. and it would be sweet for us.. if anyone could pull this off it would be morey.

    cross your fingers!

If you trade for those guys, you have one (maybe 2) shot(s) to make it to the Finals ... I'd rather give the guys that we have a shot, maybe you'll need more than 2 years, but I'll think it's worth it.

If we trade it's either for Iggy or Granger ... IMO.

    Kirilenko anyone?

Everybody keeps coming up with the same few players that they would like see the Rockets make a trade for (Paul, Granger, and Melo). These players are not likely to be had. I think we should go a different direction. Kirilenko is not the "star" player that all of us would love to have but he could be a great addition to this team with the defense that he brings. With our current roster, we have 4 guys that can score 20+ points on any given night. We don't need more offensive firepower. We need a defensive minded player. AK47 would not have to worry about his offensive game as much and could strictly focus on defense. His numbers have fell a bit in the last few years but I think its because Millsap getting more minutes and touches. He is 29 so I think he could have a couple good years left in him. He has great length with his long arms to match up against the Lamar Odom's of the league at the 3 spot. He can also slide over to the 4 spot if we want to go small and run. Battier is getting slower by the day and CBud is more of a SG then a SF. Not to mention, Taylor is our only backup SG at the moment, if we keep Chase at the 3 spot, and I dont believe he is ready to take on that role. I don't think we would have to give up much for AK47. He is HIGHLY overpaid but is entering the last year of his contract. If we decided to sign him next offseason, it would only require MLE type money or even less depending on how he does this season. A package of Battier, Jefferies, Andersen and possibly a future 2nd rd. pick could possibly get it done. The Jazz need a little more depth and a veteran leader to go with DWill on their roster and Battier would give them that. I think this would be a very low risk trade for us that could possibly turn into GREAT move. If he doesnt work out then we let him walk after the season and try to convince Battier to sign back on with us for the LLE. We really cant lose either way.

    Yao, Miller
    Scola, Hill, Hayes, Patterson
    Kirilenko, Ariza
    Martin, Budinger, Taylor
    Brooks, Lowry

What are you guys thoughts? I have my flame suit. Lets do this! lol

When people say they have their flame suit on, isn't it basically an acknowledgment that they know their idea is bad, but decided to share it anyway?

It's not the worst idea. A defensive specialist from the SF might be needed before too long...

    The contract is disgusting though...
