Well, if it's me i see that the only useful players on the squad who are worth keeping are Yao/Scola/Martin/Lowry/Lee/Hill imo. They are either our best 2-way players or are very efficient at what they do (like get to the line a ton). There is a handful of players i'd like to see wearing Rockets red. Imo they need more size/quickness/length/athleticism on our front-line up front.

    A. Randolph
    S. Ibaka
    Nene
    E. Okafor
    J. Smith
    D. Cousins

Just to name a few are players i think who can help Houston a lot. They all have size/length and are pretty good defenders who will protect the paint or rim.

    On the wings i like:

    A Iguodala
    G. Wallace
    S. Jackson - though older can still help out

I think these players will help out on the perimeter a lot, basically 2-way players.

Players like Billups, Westbrook have size at the point who would help a lot.

Imo, Brooks, Budinger, Battier, Jeffries, Hayes, Miller, Patterson, Taylor have to go imo. They are one dementional and have glaring weaknesses in their game. So if it's me my canidates will be these players to go for players that can help.

We will just have to wait for a closer to sign and/or drafted imo. Something is going to happen if Denver starts loosing AND they trade Carmelo they'll blow it up i think and look to move Billups and Nene both who could help this team. If we still have our draft pick when the next draft rolls around we must trade to move up AND we must draft Barns or Kanter.

Well my thing with Carmelo is he will go to NY regardless where he's traded to. So basically he would be half a seasons rental. I want Roy Hibbert and i don't see Indiana giving up on him as of yet he's a monster this season at 7'2.

Oh if it were a rental no way i'd give all that up for Melo. Now Roy Hibbert would be my choice of center to build around from but the Pacers will not deal him not now not ever. One player I'd gladly take off their hands would be Granger but also, not going anywhere. One they may let go would be Paul George who Im still high on. The kid plays just like Kevin Durant but anyways.....

Brooks and Battier for Captain Jack is a bit more plausible but no word on whether the bobcats would shop him.

There is NO way the nuggets would turn away such offer even to be carried out at this very moment, then again as previously stated if it's a one year melo rental, no way in hell i'd do it.

This trade would actually make since for both teams. Bobcats are in dire need of a point-guard and would like an expiring contract. While we get a huge upgrade at the three.

Two moves at the deadline to revamp the squad...

    Jeff Green
    - Rox get their SF of the future. Green plays PF but is perfectly suited for SF and can be a mismatch for anyone trying to guard him with his size and length.

    for

    Jordan Hill/JT/2011 Swap Option
    - OKC gets another BIG to develop and add to Ibaka as their front court of the future, a backup SG prospect and a potential lotto pick.

    then

    Jason Thompson/2nd rd pick
    - Rockets get a long, athletic big man to develop who can backup Yao and play the 4 with Scola.

    for

    Aaron Brooks
    - Kings get their Pguard of the future, someone they have coveted for a while now.

    Yao/Miller
    Scola/Thompson
    Green/Bud
    Martin/Lee
    Lowry/Ish

Hayes, Shane and Jeffries would all be used as situational defenders much like Chuck was used last night on Amar'e.

AB's scoring would no longer be essential as they would have 4 potent scorers around Lowry/Ish. Lowry and Green would prove better defenders then AB and Battier to protect Martin while Thompson could start in Yao's off days.

I'd rather trade for G. Wallace instead of Captain Jack. But I'd still consider this trade, Jackson is a nice veteran with more offensive skills than Battier.

I agree for the most part of your post. But the list of players that have to go IYO isn't correct, IMO.

Miller is playing well the past few games and I don't think Adelman is trading away 'his big guy'. I also don't think Bud is going to be traded ... only in a package for Melo. Patterson is a prospect, the staff was very high on him when they drafted the guy. Perhaps Patterson leaves Houston, the way Donte Green left for Artest, in a package for Melo.

Afterall we have to wait and see what DM does (with a little magic).

Right now what I would like to see is Yao getting traded. Cmon people I know "his our star player" ... but right now all I see is a person that can not produce. "But his minutes are reduced and his still not as healthy", if you're our star player you should be putting up major stat through think or thin and I'm not seeing that at the moment. What I think is we should trade Yao for players who play SF, C.

I'm strongly heading in the direction of trading for James Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, Jeff Green, Andre Igoudala, Gerrald Wallace, Speights, Thadeus Young, Pietrus, Luol Deng, Blatche

A simple trade that I would take if nothing else materializes using our expirings.

    Battier
    Jeffries
    +
    TPE

    to Utah

    for

    AK-47
    Fesenko
    somebody else

Reason Utah would do this: If the rumors are true about the 4-way deal with Denver, NJ, Charlotte, and them, they were looking to dump salary by trading Kirilenko for Diaw. I am sure this is to get out from paying luxury tax as that type of deal would place them below the luxury tax. The rumor was that Denver bailed on that deal because they would have to pay even more luxury tax while probably missing the playoffs.

What I see is the opportunity to get an upgrade at the 3-spot, a long rangy player that can do everything very well. He can shoot, get to the line, defend, and help defend, block shots, steals. Kirilenko gives you everything and he gives you just enough boost in offense over Battier that it would be worth it to me to obtain him. He also gives us a great defender to tangle with Odom in individual matchups come playoff time. And we really lose nothing in the deal. Utah slides below the luxury tax and gets a decent replacement for AK-47 in Battier for the remainder of this season. Battier will fit in like a glove with Sloan. Yeah, now we got to play against him.....or we may be able to avoid them in the playoffs. All the same, I'd rather play with AK-47 against Battier than Battier against AK-47.

Whatever the details of any trade bringing AK47 to the Rockets, he'd definitely be the sort of player the team needs. Plays the 3 or 4, blocks shots, passes very well, runs the floor, can even score a bit. Then he could be re-signed next year to a number closer to his actual talent.

If Utah keeps playing well, they might balk at making any deal. And yet playing well won't reduce their luxury tax burden.

I would wait to see where the team is prior to the trade deadline before I make a deal. If they're under .500, I might entertain trading scola, let yao and battier move on and try another group. If I'm keeping martin and brooks backcourt, I would like to see a frontline of Randolph,Hill,Thompson.

Those 3 guys on the frontline would give the rockets mobility, flexibility, and versitility all in 1 group. The team could defend with quickness and each one of those guys can slide over. They bring in chase and randolph slides to the 4 and hill to the 5. Thats how I would like to play it.

for what it's worth, chronicle mentioned today how Josh Smith is on morey's "radar" as he continues to looks for a star....also mentions how he's looked into bosh, Melo, and CP3 since the summer, nothing really specific.

I'm sure smith is on alot of teams radar, but i don't think the rockets can get him. I don't think the hawks are trying to trade him either from what I've been told. Why not just go get a similar guy like randolph and see if he can devlop that way? Thats my beef with the rockets this year and when yo-yo made the thread about just accepting the team even if they're not in position to win a ring. Develop the young guys is my biggest thing right now. There is no reason Hill shouldn't be playing 25 mins a night regardless, but like I said before, adelmans is loyal to the vets. One poster said I don't like adelman which I didn't agree with. I like adelman, but he has a track record of sticking with the vets till the wheels fall off and he's doing it again. Chuck played excellent vs amare and i like to see that, but thats what chuck is, a situational player. What happened to the exciting new offensive moves from this summer?

I just think with the team being mediocre, you will start seeing alot of empty seats at the tc and apathy set in. Houston fans are great fans, but when you're not serious about winning, they move on. There are alot bette things to spend money on than watching the rockets stuck in mud. I'm a huge basketball fan as there is with a high disposable income, but I don't waste money because the team is trying.

We need a mobile defensive big.

I love Hill and company, but we should of pulled the trigger on the Iggy/Dalembert/Lwill for McGrady/Lowry that was on the table last year.
