Do you think Josh Smith could fit with the Rockets and fill our defensive void?

Morey should be after Josh Smith and Gerald Wallace to help fill our defense and gain some offense as well. Both are 2 way players and the system needs more of these kind of players. Josh Smith is also a very good high-post passer who will net you 5 assist per game with 5 blocks and pairing him with Wallace who is a near 20 points and 10 rebounds, 2 steals makes your line-up more monsterous in the front-court.

    Yao/Miller
    Smith/Scola
    Wallace
    Martin
    Lowry/Smith

    Everyone else is tradeable.

Dunleavy can be a stop-gap vet at PG. When Brooks and Lowry return he'll slot back to SG behind Martin.

Dunleavy, Smith, * Brooks, Lowry -injured *
    Martin, Taylor
    Battier, Budinger
    Scola, Psycho T, Hayes
Hill, Miller, * Yao -injured *

    Brooks, Lowry, Smith
    Martin, Dunleavy, Taylor
    Battier, Budinger
    Scola, Psycho T, Hayes
    Yao, Hill, Miller

Pacers are around $5-6M under the tax. This trade clears another $2.5M. So they can easily waive Solomon Jones to create the necessary roster space for this deal.

    Caron Butler?

Per the following blog post on ESPN:

So, with that, the Mavs have a logjam with underperforming players. With the Rockets as they are now, they are not getting anywhere at all.

so I suggest we go after Butler

1: He has an expiring contract. So we can flip him any time at the trade deadline if he doesn't work out.

2: He plays SF. A position we desperately need a boost in.

3: Fan interest in the team is at an all-season low. Any trade right now for a star like Butler would spark a renewed interest on the team, win or lose.

    So I suggest:

Shane Battier + Chuck Hayes + Jermaine Taylor

    for

    Caron Butler + Filler

    opinions?

Morey was pursuing Butler last trade deadline, but he went for Martin instead. Now is it his chance to grab Butler?

Honestly, why on G-d's green earth would Dallas make this trade?

This is the equivalent of Morey getting a call from the Utah Jazz offering up Raja Bell, Ronnie Price and Jeremy Evans for Kevin Martin.

You think Morey would be interested in THAT move?

(Sorry, I don't mean to be a "hater" or anything, but I honestly can't believe that you actually thought this through from Dallas's perspective, especially since it is clear that the Mavs do not need a defensive-minded SF with Marion and Butler on board and since Marion can also play the role of "undersized, defensive-minded PF".)

    Nah, man. I like W22.

We Rockets fans just need to take one big collective chill pill and cool off the preposterous trade proposals.

We need a center (starter) and a scoring wing (other than the inconsistent Bud.smh)...and we will be better off in the long run.

Are you confusing Dunleavy with someone else because he definitely isn't a point guard...heck, he isn't even a guard

He's been playing guard in between Collison and Granger all season. And he was the only perimeter player torching us tonight.......since KMartin was defending him....at the SG position. He may not be a guard but he plays one on TV.

He's been a SG since he got traded to Pacers and coincidently that's when he started to live up to the expectations of where he was drafted.

Dunleavy was a PG in high school. In the NBA he's started probably between 5-8 games at PG.
