Trade Jermaine Taylor to anywhere for a future 2nd round pick, he deserves a chance to play somewhere, and he won't get it here. DD
Yep. Morey might as well get something out of him..... Unless, Morey has bigger plans. Ha ha haaaaaa.
I really don't see why either team would do this. The Pacers aren't going to play Aaron at the two, and they have Collision, so why would they need Brooks?
Good lord. We'd be getting robbed. Horrible suggestion. Maybe if it was just Battier/Jeffries/Hill/Pick for Granger.
The Pacers aren't trading Granger. Unless they get one heck of a talent in return. They would want to add to Granger and Collison. Otherwise they'll never, ever return to respectability.
This deal would be sold as a salary dump from Indy's standpoint (Brooks Battier Jeffries expirings) + making room for Paul George to take up playing time + making room for the return of Dunleavy. Brooks and Hill have talent also, and they can use this year to really determine whether or not Collison has what it takes to start, gradually easing him into the role. Despite what many of you may think, he's still not a guarantee for greatness and in my opinion too much of a risk to simply hand over the keys of an NBA team to without any kind of plan B. Maybe they consider this in midseason when Collison struggles. Rockets do it because we have PG depth, get a star starting SF in Granger, and Rush is a better individual defender right now than Battier plus he's at 39.5% career on 3's. Although his PER is ridiculously low (9.5) and his salary is a good bit higher and for two more years guaranteed, it's a situation where I think he's not been used correctly in that offense. No matter what deals the Rockets make, I can assure you of this: Many around the league will initially denounce the trade from a value perspective in terms of what the Rockets are getting. Clutchfans members will be conflicted but you'll have a good plurality (myself included) who heap blanket praise onto the deal simply because Morey made it and he must have seen something in the guy (who is supposed to suck) that made him believe that player would thrive within our system. It happened with Lowry, it happened with Lee, they turned out ok. Unfortunately it also happened with Joey Dorsey and Trevor Ariza, so apparently Morey's not perfect after all, but he is getting better at cutting bait at least. This deal would qualify as one of those "Morey" deals where some might oppose it initially, so that's why I proposed it.
Not at all, Lowry is a great backup, but as a starter he would suck, teams would pack the paint and force him to shoot and that would be Rafer Alston like in results. They could crowd Yao, double team on Kevin Martin to deny the ball, it would work in some games, but unless he learns how to shoot at a decent rate, most good teams would just not bother guarding him, and concentrate on the rest of the starters..
