CH, I love ya, man . . . but quit it with the "written accents" and intentionally bad grammar. It's kind of lost its luster. Please don't ruin your otherwise coherent and well-thought-out opinions. Good point. But Larry Brown did wonders with the previously- (and seemingly ever since) uncoachable Allen Iverson. Also, remember that Michael Jordan runs that team. He's the "Isiah Thomas" of ACTIVE team executives with control over personnel decisions.
Zeke never wasted pick on Kwame B. Still, I agree with Hollinger. I think a deal will have Houston eating Smith with a TPE and have AB going to CHA along with salary in exchange for the use of Damp's contract. Cannot check with trade machine now sine I am typing on blackberry on a train in Germany.
At least the train is (assuredly) on time. At least Zeke was good at scouting draftable talent. But, sheesh, how many enemies hath MJ (must have) made with his indecision and backing out of deals? Both of them, enemies forever, should be Septiened.
Smith won't fit in the Ariza TPE. And since all three teams (Hou, Den, Cha) are over the cap, I don't know how another large trade exception gets generated. FAIL.
400K difference - thank goodness. Is JR more or less likely to be demanded into a deal with his legal falderal hanging over Nugs' and his heads?
I am unsure whose information is correct. ESPN Trade Machine lists Smith's Salary at $6.757 ESPN lists his salary at $6.171 million ( http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2444 ) An ESPN article lists him at $6.03 million ( http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5486098 ) HoopsHype lists him at $6.031 million ( http://hoopshype.com/salaries/denver.htm ) This just makes me trust Espn soo much less now. But if the trade machine is wrong than any other of those salary numbers WILL fit in Ariza's TPE
Shamsports.com has the same figure as ESPN's Trade Machine ($6.757M). I trust the figures on Shamsports.com over Hoopshype. Combine that with the fact that ESPN articles are written by individual writers, each of whom might not know a player's salary and just misquote it. The Trade Machine is (mostly) accurate about the salary matters.
Good afternoon everyone. It's me again with a good one for ya... Denver gets Martin(offense) Hill(youth) Battier(expiring) Kapono(expiring) Patterson (youth) pick(s) (specify) Phillie gets Jeffries(expiring) Johnson(filler) Brooks(youth/offense) Bud(youth/offense Taylor(youth/offense) seperate $5 mil. TE for Williams pick(s) (specify) Houston gets Melo Iguodala(no more Iggy ) Birdman Smith Williams Line-up Lowry/Williams/Ish Iguodala/Lee Melo/Smith/Battier? Scola/Miller/Birdman/Hayes Yao/Miller/Birdman/Hayes This scenario meets every teams demands. There may be a few holes. Feel free to fill them, please. Also, i would like to hear from Bima on this one. It would mean alot. Can't wait to hear what my main man Joesr has to say.
Trade Brooks, Martin, Battier, Jeffries, Hill, the trade exception, and the Knicks' picks for Melo, Chauncey, and Birdman. PG: Billups/Lowry SG: Lee/Taylor SF: Anthony/Budinger PF: Scola/Patterson/Hayes C: Yao/Miller/Andersen In the ESPN Trade Machine: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=28ns7q8
Sorry, I just started with it but went into trance: Portland gives: Rudy Fernandez + Luke Babbitt + Dante Cunningham + rights for Victor Claver gets: Chase Budinger + Chuck Hayes + Alex Johnson [Solve Rudy problem, get a replace in Chase, help Houston make the trade] Houston gives: Jeffries + Knicks 2012 pick + Rockets 2011 pick + Chase Budinger + Jordan Hill + rights for Llull + Chuck Hayes + Jermaine Taylor + Alex Johnson + Mike Harris gets: Carmelo Anthony + Rudy Fernandez [Melo; replace Chase for Rudy; that many players to match salaries] Denver gives: Carmelo Anthony gets: Knicks 2012 pick + Rockets 2011 pick + Luke Babbitt + Jared Jeffries + Jordan Hill + rights for Llull + rights for Claver + Jermaine Taylor + Mike Harris + Dante Cunningham [Woj says they want picks and young players; they get 2 1st round picks + 2 future NBA players in Claver and Llull. Jordan Hill can replace Martin for the future, and Babbitt is a solid prospect] Brooks - Lowry Lee - Fernandez Melo - Battier Scola - Patterson Yao - Miller
oh boy here we go http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wi...100827/billups_might_be_a_trade_chip_as_well/ Billups may also be on the block? Making room for AB?
If Denver is willing to give up Billups, then IMO, we are in the driver's seat in the Melo sweepstakes. Out of all those preferred teams on Melo's list, we have the best point guard to give to them. Clippers - Baron Davis? Overpaid, pass! Warriors - Stephen Curry? No way the Warriors let him go. Monte Ellis? Overpaid chucker, pass! Bobcats - DJ Augustin? Shaun Livingston? Nets - Devin Harris? Injury prone and overpaid as well, pass! Jordan Farmar? Pass! Knicks - Toney Douglas? LOL, pass!
There are only a couple options that I see possible in terms of what DM would be willing to give up in return for Melo. Option 1: 3 team trade Denver gives: Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith Houston gives: Shane Battier, Jared Jefferies, Jordan Hill, 2011 Rockets Pick (with the right to swap with NY) and the 2012 NY Pick. Sacramento gives: Carl Landry -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Denver Receives: Shane Battier (Exp.), Jared Jefferies (Exp.), Jordan Hill (Lottery Pick), and 2012 NY Knick Pick. Houston Receives: Carmelo Anthony and Carl Landry Sacramento Receives: JR Smith, $3 Million Trade Exception, and the 2011 Pick -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Option 2: Straight Up Trade Denver gives: Carmelo Anthony Houston gives: Shane Battier, Jared Jefferies, Jordan Hill, Jermain Taylor, and 2012 NY Pick Houston Receives: Melo Denver Receives: Battier, Jefferies, Hill, Taylor and Pick
