Then what was Jordan Hill for? Hill for McGee straight up works, since the Wizards are under the cap. No need to involve a trade exception, my friend.
I figured Hill wouldn't be enough so the TE was somewhat of a sweetner. BTW, thanks for being so patient with so many questions. Like i said once before, i would like these to be as realistic as possible.
Playing with the trade machine. Rockets trade: Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, 2011 Rockets first (rights to swap picks with NY), 2012 Knicks first round picks Rockets get: Carmelo Anthony Aaron Afflalo Nuggets trade: Carmelo Anthony, Nene Hilario, Aaron Afflalo Nuggets get: Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, 2011 Rockets first (rights to swap picks with NY), 2012 Knicks first round pick, Marvin Williams, Maurice Evans (buyout), 2011 and 2013 Hawks first round picks (lottery protected) Hawks trade: Marvin Williams, Maurice Evans, 2011 and 2013 Hawks first round picks Hawks get: Nene Hilario
If Yao goes down again, we should make a move for Brook Lopez at the deadline. Pat Patterson or Hill (maybe both) Chase Budinger NY 2011 #1 NY 2012 #1 for Brook Lopez Brooks / Lowry Martin / Lee / Taylor Battier / Jeffries Scola / Hill (PP) / Hayes Lopez / Miller Saves us another million bucks as well.
Why not offer Yao for Brook now? The Nyets want to make a big splash, let em make it with the biggest player in the league. DD
I would do that trade in a heart beat... Yao has only good 2 years left and that is only " IF " he stays healthy... Brook Lopez has what 10 years...
This looks like Pau Gasol for Kwame all over again- The Rockets being the Lakers in this case. No way it happens.
Its not comparable in the slightest. Gasol was dumped for an expiring contract and his brother who was a relative unknown at the time. This trade involves no dumping of salary for expirings, but 2-3 young prospects and 2 potentially great lottery picks. NJ may very well turn it down, but that is a very attractive package.
LOL, yeah I read it and I didnt disagree with ya. I just remember when I first saw your trade post but you've been getting more realistic since then. Still a ways to go (as do we all honestly)
So with talks of Brook Lopez and with us having the better assets to give Denver then NJN or NYK, why not have us give up the assets to help NJN get Carmelo in exchange for Brook? We'd probably have to give up less prospects and picks? Also is the trade machine down? Everytime I try to see if this trade works, it doesnt say anything!
Absolutely, this has been a problem in years past; fruit basket turnover ever season, no continuity. Since Morey has been on board, you can begin to see an effort to build and KEEP a core although a boat load of changes have been made. I think we are headed in the right direction, no time to blow it up. Let's see what Yao has left, steady as she goes.
I noticed most of the trades left Air Bud to the rox. If this was to not anger ol DD or just because you love him too much, then your being optimistic. Sure Bud flew under the radar but best believe all the coaches noticed this rook lightin it up a few baskets at a time. I think if we make any major moves CBud is gonna have to be involved to make the deal. As much as i'd hate to see him go. He's one of my fav players easily.
I would trade CBud, if you are getting a big SF back like Melo, or Granger, or something. Otherwise, I would like to see him play a long time in Houston. DD
as much as i hate the dallas mavericks, i would have to commend them on their supreme ability to add significantly to their talent each year, year after year. I'm sure we'd do it all the time if we had a mega-riches billionaire owner like M. Cubanz. It is only the core that we have to keep intact. Sure, you don't trade your stars year after year for a new band of stars, but Dirk, Jason Terry and co. has been in Dallas more than what most Rockets can say they've been in Houston. And we're "supposedly" not being "fruit-basket-ish" in our roster transformations each season under Morey.
