Blowing it up Martin, 14 for Randolph, Rubio, 2 Scola, Lowry, Miller for Whiteside, 7, 2012 1st Twill or Bud, Hill, 7, Future 1st Lottery Protected or 2nd this year(Thabeet also/in replacement of, if thats who they want) for Gibson(make's money work), 4 If Rubio sucks we still have dragic, plus we can draft a pg with one of our many other picks like the 23 I like Randoph's size and versitility At 2 I would take Williams if he is still there if not then irving, at 4 I would take Kanter. Let the young guns blaze and see what happens.
Forgot lineup, and forgot Martell Webster in the Twolves trade, money still works. Rubio/Dragic/Gibson(possible cut)/possible draft pick Lee/Webster/possible draft pick Williams/Webster/Randolph/possible draft pick Patterson/Hayes/Williams/Randolph Kanter/Hayes/possible draft pick
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4y62v28 TRADE WITH WIZARDS: Kevin Martin Brad Miller Hasheem Thabeet #23 pick (if WAS doesn't agree, then #14) FOR #6 pick Javale McGee Rashard Lewis (must be included for salaries to match, basically doing them a favor) Jordan Crawford
just throwing ideas out there... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3ms7qwx TRADE WITH JAZZ Kevin Martin Brad Miller 23rd Pick FOR 3rd Pick Al Jefferson Raja Bell
I've been thinking of a variant of this,Martin plus 14 and/or 23 for the 3rd,to get Kanter(if his knee problems are low risk)and fillers.
A Hawk fan on realgn suggested a Smith trade where we would end up with: Smith + Illyosova for Scola + Miller + Hill + #23 Its not terrible if we could play Smith at the three alongside Patterson, with Hayes at the five. Im skeptical he could be as good a 3 as he could a 4, but this lineup is pretty decent: Lowry / Dragic Martin / Lee Smith / Budinger Patterson / (Farried?) Hayes / Thabeet?
That Smith deal is awesome. He would really be a great benefit to our team. Think of the defensive upgrade when starting Smith for Budinger. You have Patterson and assumedly a 7'0 someone in there as well. He can play the 4 as needed also. The shot blocking and interior presence that we so desperately need would become (IMO) elite if we started Dalembert (for kicks)/Patterson/Smith. Lowry would be the bulldog on the perimeter and Martin could gamble. I would even give them #14 to make that deal work. #14+#23+Miller+Scola+Hill for Smith and Pachulia. Sign Dalembert, maybe give Yao a few minutes. Dalembert/Pachulia/Yao Patterson/Hayes/Smith Smith/Budinger/Williams Martin/Lee/Williams Lowry/Dragic
Josh Smith is ineffective playing the 3. Thats why he was moved to the four and you started to see his flashy blocks on espn. How many times must we go over this?
You're absolutely correct. And the older Smith gets, the more weight he's gonna drag around and the slower he is going to become. He's a 4. There's just no two ways about it. He can't shoot worth a .... And he takes ill-advised long bombs way too often. After seeing him in the playoffs, I'm not for sure he could actually help us, unless he stayed within an 8 foot radius of the hoop on both ends at all times and never ventured further out than that.
Thats sounds cool. I wonder if the Rockets would have to include the #23 pick in that? Also if that trade happened, I'd be more inclined for the Rockets to draft Jordan Hamilton.
Re-visiting both the Minny situation and Kings situation; rumors are that Minny is also very open to trading the 20th pick. So with that said, here's my modified trade proposal. ------ Houston Rockets/ Minnesota Timberwolves: MIN Receives: SG Kevin Martin, PF/C Jordan Hill, SF Marcus Blakely, 38th pick HOU Receives: 2nd overall pick, 20th pick, PG Jonny Flynn, SF Martel Webster, PF/C Anthony Tolliver. Wolve's perspective: They get immidiate help in the form of a 20+ ppg scorer, considered a borderline 'All-Star', to take the pressure off Beasley and Love. Which could help them retain Love, and get into the playoffs. They also get to shed some long contracts in Webster and Tolliver. Rockets perspective: They get the 2nd overall pick givin them a chance at another franchise player ----------------------------------------------- Houston Rockets/ Sacramento Kings: SAC Receives: PF Luis Scola, PG Goran Dragic, 14th overall pick(Jordan Hamilton) HOU Receives: 7th overall pick, C Hassan Whiteside, SF Omar Casspi Kings perspective: They get the immediate help that they are seeking, along with a good prospect in return. Rockets perspective: They get the 7th overall pick, along with two other prospect to aid in the rebuilding process. ------ Rockets Draft Day Selections: 2nd pick - C 6'11 Enes Kanter | 7th pick - PG 6'1 Kemba Walker | 20th pick - C 7'0 Nikola Vucevic | 23rd pick - PF/C 6'10 Jeremy Tyler ------ 2011/2012 HOUSTON ROCKETS DEPTH CHART: Kyle Lowry / Kemba Walker / Jonny Flynn Courtney Lee / Terrence Williams Chase Budinger / Omar Casspi / Martel Webster Patrick Patterson / Jeremy Tyler / Anthony Tolliver Enes Kanter / Nikola Vucevic / Hassan Whiteside/ Hasheem Thabeet Roster's strength -- We would constantly have a floor general on the floor, with Lowry and Kemba. We would have a unique combination of athleticism and skill in our front line. Along with legit size. We also would have a very balanced wing combo of offense and defense, with Lee/Bud and T-Will/Casspi. Overall an athletic young team, that's also able to space the court with shooters, and able to score in the post with Kanter and Pat. Roster's weaknesses -- EXCEPERIENCE. We would have one of the youngest teams in the nba, along with a very young and inexperience front line, which would most certainly lead to many losses. On a positive side, this roster would put us in a great position to get one the 'blue chip' small forwards (Barnes, Miller, Gilchrist, Thomas or Jones) in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Minnesota Receives: Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, 38th Pick Houston Receives: Martell Webster, Nikola Pekovic, Anthony Tolliver, 2nd Pick -------------------------------------------------------------- Sacramento Receives: Luis Scola, 14th Pick Houston Receives: 7th Pick, Jason Thompson (or Whiteside) -------------------------------------------------------------- Draft D. Williams with the 2nd Pick, Biyombo with the 7th, possibly trading the 7th pick to get in a position to draft Kanter instead. Something like 7th pick, 23rd pick and future first or second for 4th pick. -------------------------------------------------------------- Depth Chart: Lowry / Dragic Lee / T-Will D. Williams / Webster Patterson / Thompson / Tolliver Kanter / Hayes / Pekovic <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Q_X8ZZwcs4k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Perhaps this is a better place for this post: Houston Receives: Samuel Dalmbert - $13.4 M C. Landry $3.0 M Sacramentos 7th Pick (select SF Kawhi Leonard) Sacramento Receives: Scola - $7.8 M Brad Miller - $4.4 (Is it too wishful to think the Maloofs will want to bring the big guy back for a retirement season?) Houston's 14th Pick New Orleans Receives: Houston's 23rd Pick (they take Jimmer Fredette) Jordan Hill 2011/2012 Line Up Lowry/Dragic C.Lee/ Budinger/Kawhi Leonard Patterson/Landry Dalembert/Hayes
Dalembert is an unrestricted free agent, so the Kings can not include him in any trade -- they coudl do a sign and trade, but he won't be making that level of money in the future.
