I would trade Scola, Brad Miller, T-Will, and our 2nd round pick this year to the Clips for Kaman. Then trade Lowry, Thabeet, Courtney Lee, our two 1st rounders this year, and the Battier TE for Chris Paul and Ariza. Finally, sign Dwight Howard next summer with our cap space.

    Point: Paul/Dragic
    Wings: Martin/Ariza/Budinger
    Big Men: Howard/Patterson/Hill

Could that 8 man rotation win a championship? I think Paul, Martin, and Howard are just as good as LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.

    To do list

    In offseason

    Martin + #14
    for
    #3 + Ridnour + Pekovic

    Trade 2
    Scola + Chase
    for
    Granger

    Before trade deadline
    Trade 3
    #3 pick (Enes K?) + Lowry + Williams + Hill
    for
    Paul

    Offseason 2012
Get rid of Ridnour, Miller, Thabeet
    Sign Dwight as free agent

    2012 Rox
    Dwight/Pekovic
    Patterson/Hayes

    Lee
    Paul/Dragic

You can't afford to keep Chuck if you're trying to create enough cap space to sign Dwight.

I admire your Rocket loyalty, but no basketball team, not even the Rockets, would choose Lowry over Paul. Of course, we have as much chance of acquiring Paul as we do of landing Dwight Howard, i.e. a hopelessly miniscule chance.

If Lowry can sustain his play last season I'd rather keep Lowry over Cp3. An 8.5 pg making 6M a year is better than a 9.0 pg making 20M a year. When the last time a team won a ring with a pg as the best player? In the clutch LBJ, Wade or Durant will pwn CP3's ass anytime.

    My trade idea:

    Houston trades:
    2011 lottery pick
    Patrick Patterson
    Squid

    OKC trades:
    Thabo Sefalosha
    Serge Ibaka

With Perkins already blocking the middle, OKC needs someone who can provide scoring in the low post. Ibaka has been great for them, but you can't really have a successful team with only perimeter scorers, they need someone who can score in the post to free up space in the perimeter.PP can do that and more, he can also hit jumpshots and take 3 pointers. Squid gives them yet another multi dimensional player to play behind Harden, and the lottery pick acts as a sweetener. On our end, Ibaka can be our C, and Sefalosha could replace C-bud in the starting line up, making up for KM's defensive deficiencies.

Again, an 8.5 pg at 6M a year is better than a 9.0 pg at 15M-20M a year. Get over the name recognition and take everything into consideration.

Not a bad idea, but PP needs to improve his post up game before he can be effective there. He can run and play defense for them, but so can Ibaka.

I like your idea, but I think OKC would need to see more from PP to pull the trigger. Perhaps at the trade deadline next season. And if they trade Thabo, would Harden start in his place? I assume he could, and actually stretch out the floor more for KD. I like this trade though.

Lowry is not .5 away from CP3.

That is a completely arbitrary numbering system completely made up.

Dwight Howard is not going to come out and say I want to play with either CP3 or Dwill (or Lowry cause he is almost as good)

CP3 is a far superior playmaker than Lowry, despite the latter's improvement.
However, our need at the 5 spot is so great that we can't afford going after an elite PG.

Just having fun with the trade machine. More detailed summary in spoiler.

Milwaukee loses Andrew Bogut, who was having a bad year compared to the year before. But in return, they get a good value in Scola, who can work the post. Also opens up more minutes for Larry Sanders. They also get Wes Johnson. Yes, Maggette is an efficient scorer, but Wes Johnson's upside is enormous. Maggette could play SG anyway. Not a bad haul for Milwaukee in my opinion. Certainly not the best they could get for Bogut, but a good low post vet, and a young SF with a sky high ceiling. The draft machine doesn't account for draft picks, but in this scenario they also get #14 from the Rockets.

Minnesota gets Kevin Martin, who fills a gaping hole in their roster. Also get a young F/C in Jordan Hill.

Houston gets a franchise center, a damn good one too. We get a talented SF in Webster, but does he have lingering injuries? To make the trade work, we get Lazar Hayward from the T'wolves too. Could be a decent bench player here. We also get the #2 pick from Minnesota.

    In short,

Milwaukee trades Andrew Bogut and gets back Luis Scola, Wes Johnson, and the 14th pick from the Rockets.

Minnesota trades the #2 pick and gets Kevin Martin and Jordan Hill.

Houston trades Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and Jordan Hill. They get back Andrew Bogut, Martell Webster, Lazar Hayward, and the #2 pick.

I need BimaThug or another capologist to approve this trade proposal.

Bring on the youth movement: Luis Scola to Minnesota for Wes Johnson and Anthony Randolph.
