I know I know I agree but I wish it was a bit different though. On a different note: I sure hope you are a bit wrong when you say that DM is not looking for a blockbuster superstar trade since he's continuously overemphasized that fact. BTW thanks for the reply W22_STREAK.
Well, this is a trade proposal ... under the radar, DM's way. Because let's face it, we don't have a shot of getting a Superstar caliber player. Instead of blowing the entire team up, we adjust in order to achieve a better record (in the future). We need a big men and we need to upgrade the SF spot: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=5uu42zf Rockets: * Outgoing players: Battier, Budinger, Scola, Brooks, Jeffries and the NY 1st round draft pick. You could say, well that's pretty close of blowing the team up. But it isn't ... * Incoming players: Curry (GS), Biedrins (GS), Maggette (Bucks), future 2nd round pick (Bucks). * Why? Upgrade of the SF and C spot. Curry's talent is a no-brainer. Warriors: * Outgoing players: Curry, Biedrins and Wright. They made Curry available, because Ellis is playing lights out. Trading him in a fair package, would be all right for them. * Incoming players: Brooks, Scola, Jeffries and the NY 1st round draft pick (maybe also a future first and/or second round draft pick). * Why? This is a fair package offered by the Rockets. Scola gives them a huge low-post offensive boost. Brooks is fast and a shoot first PG/SG. Jeffries is an expiring contract. The draft pick(s) could make the deal happen. Bucks: * Outgoing players: Maggette and a second round draft pick (to Houston). * Incoming players: Battier, Budinger and Wright (GS). * Why? Maggette is a 'big contract', so getting two expiring contracts in Battier and Wright is a nice compensation. Getting a young, good shooting and cheap SF as Bud in return, makes them pull the trigger. Rockets line-up: PG: Lowry/Curry/Ish SG: Martin/Lee SF: Maggette/T-Will PF: Patterson/Jordan Hill C: Biedrins/Miller/Hayes Maybe we can still package Lowry/Martin/Hill/Yao's contract for a Superstar caliber player ...
You could trade Brooks, Hill, Patterson, and Yao for Nene and Chauncey. You may have to throw in a sweetener like the Clippers' 2nd round pick this year. PG: Billups/Lowry/Smith SG: Martin/Lee SF: Battier/Budinger/Williams PF: Scola/Hayes C: Nene/Miller/Jeffries
* Solomon Jones expiring, waived for roster space * Rockets haven't had a high FG% (magic marker of .46) shooting PG since Price @ .483 (98-99) or one as a starter since Smith @ .484 (94-95/Championship) Brooks, Price, Stephenson Dunleavy, Rush, D.Jones Granger, George, Posey McRoberts, Hansbrough, Jeffries Hibbert, Hill, Miller Sign Magnum Rolle Lowry, Collison, Smith, Ford (waive or trade) Martin, Lee Battier, Budinger, Williams Scola, 2Pat, (Rolle) Foster, Hayes, Rolle, Yao
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4czkuz2 Rox out: Brooks, J. Hill Rox in: Mayo and Thabeet Mem out: Mayo, Thabeet Mem in: Landry, Cassipi Kings out: Landry, Cassipi Kings in: Brooks, J Hill Rox get the best talent but also risk the most. Kings get their fit next to Evans for Landry and a young on rookie contract. Mem get a nice insurance policy for Z-Bo and a good 6th man in Cassipi. WIN WIN WIN for all.
That's an interesting trade. I prefer replacing Martin with Hill and Billups with Lawson. What are some teams that are in need of a PG? I know Sacramento may want Brooks. However, they prefer to lose more games now, get a better pick, and sign Brooks in the off season. Are there any borderline playoff teams that would be interested in Aaron Brooks? I was thinking Charlotte, but I don't think Larry Brown would want him. Plus, they already have Augustine.
Rockets/Grizzlies trade: Aaron Brooks for OJ Mayo Both need a change of scenery, and they bring similar things to the table...(Brooks is the better shooter, Mayo is the better "capable" playmaker among the two)
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6cnnzqs I know most Rockets fans will not like this trade, but hear me out. Luis and Shane finally get a good shot at a ring; San Antonio goes into full Win Now mode while Duncan is still active. Also, Luis and Shane are just down the road from Houston so they don't have to move their families. Can you imagine Luis and Duncan in the front court, with mcdyess coming off the bench with dejaun blair? Houston gets great potential in Splitter and James Anderson. Richard Jefferson can immediately fill in for Battier and is an upgrade at the SF position, and we finally have a legit presence in the paint with Splitter. Anderson is in the D League now but is a very promising young talent. Just a suggestion
Yeah ur right..no rocket fan will like that trade..worst trade ever..unless were trying to get a high lottery pick
I could live with that......Not sure if Denver would want another 6ft PG but Pat,Yao expiring and pick(s) is a good start.....noticed I excluded Hill from that...I wonder why
Okay, it's about to get REALLY random up in here! Trade #1: DEN receives: Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, 2012 NYK 1st rounder, ~$1.7M TPE, cash HOU receives: Nene, Renaldo Balkman (via Landry TPE) Why Denver does it: They get (in order of priority for Denver): (1) a future first rounder with very limited (top-5 protection), (2) between $7-10 million in savings, depending on how much cash Les throws into the deal, (3) a young big in Jordan Hill as a prospect, and (4) out of Balkman's multi-year deal (through 2013, albeit for not much money). Why Houston does it: Nene. Trade (Series) #2: (This one is complicated, but I'll lump it all together as one trade) SAC receives: Aaron Brooks, Yao Ming CHI receives: Francisco Garcia, Luther Head, 2011 HOU/LAC 2nd rounder, ~$3.6M TPE, (maybe) Ish Smith HOU receives: C.J. Watson (via Ariza TPE), Brian Scalabrine, future SAC 1st rounder (w/limited protection), ~$17.7M TPE Why Sacramento does it: They get a good young PG in Aaron Brooks (who the Kings had been rumored to be VERY interested in), while getting out from under Garcia's long-term deal. Presumably, the first rounder would have limited protection that could burn off over time (top-8 in 2011, top-7 in 2012, and so on). Protection on that pick would probably be the biggest sticking point in this random trade from SAC's standpoint. Why Chicago does it: If they are desperate enough for a real SG, Garcia could fill that need for them. They trade out another long-term deal in Watson's (who doesn't seem to be working out that great in Chicago), albeit at a smaller salary, but they also get a nice TPE to use in future deals. Also for their troubles, they get what will likely be a high second round pick. Luther Head is there for salary matching purposes, and Ish may have to be included, depending on certain trade rules and the limitations on the number of roster spots the Rockets can have at any point in this series of transactions. Why Houston does it: Two reasons: that SAC pick and a HUUUUUGE trade exception that will make Houston a major player in almost any conceivable trade for a star player in the following 12 months. They also get a pretty good backup PG in Watson to replace some of what Brooks was supposed to give them off the bench this year. Scalabrine is there just to make the salaries work and could be waived immediately after the trade. The 2011-12 Houston Rockets would then look something like this (not indicating starters or anything): PG: Kyle Lowry / C.J. Watson / (Ish Smith?) SG: Kevin Martin / Courtney Lee SF: Chase Budinger / Terrence Williams / Renaldo Balkman PF: Luis Scola / Patrick Patterson C: Nene / Brad Miller Along with the following trade assets: --a $17.7M TPE (Yao) --a $2.7M TPE (remainder of Ariza TPE) --a future SAC 1st rounder (eventual mid-lottery pick down the road?) --a 2011 HOU 1st rounder (either as a player or as a pick to trade on draft night) --draft rights to Sergio Llull --draft rights to Lior Eliyahu And given that the Rockets would have the Yao TPE, they would opt not to take any cap space and would then be free to re-sign Shane Battier and/or Chuck Hayes without regard for the salary cap (subject to an unexpected change in the new CBA eliminating Bird rights, which is highly unlikely). Also, to the extent that any form of an "MLE" still exists, the Rockets could use some/all of it to re-sign a rehabbing Yao as a backup C to Nene. Just spit-balling here.
Clearly my post wasn't obvious enough. I want to blow this squad up and start over. That's why I included Luis and Shane. And yes, I would like a top 8 draft pick.
I actually like your idea. generating a trade except is the best way to keep Yao+chuck+battier. this trade is more than meets the eye... good stuff
TRADE IDEA: ROCKETS JUMP IN MELO TRADE TO LAKERS http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4pfrfvj with the trade winds circling around the idea of melo going to the lakers i think we should jump in on this trade. we virtually give up nothing and make it better for the lakers with brooks and the nuggets with more cap space, a young pf to go with their new young center. we could even throw in a draft pick and/or some other young players if need be. this lands us a good two way center and sf. i know harringtons contract is long. but i think he would be an excellent addition as a good scorer and a very underrated defender. the best part is that we really dont give up any big pieces. all of a sudden you have a starting lineup of: lowry martin harrington (could also be a good 6th man)/battier scola nene
