Do you think Josh Smith could fit with the Rockets and fill our defensive void?

Seems to be some discussion of Granger's availability so I was thinking...

Scola, Jeffries for Granger, S. Jones maybe we add Budinger, cash and/or a pick to make it more agreeable.

this gives us a huge upgrade at the 3 spot an psuedo all-star.... Patterson can then get more minutes which should provide better defense. We also get another center in Jones, who can provide us with some size until we find a replacement for Yao.

Imo Patterson/Hill should be pretty close to 'untouchable' unless its for Granger or anybody better. And even at that i'd hate to move either as i think they'll develope chemistry together and be better distributors on the court. So if i was to be making moves, imo i think clearing cap space for picks AND keeping Brooks around for another trade is the best option. We going to need a top 10 pick+Brooks to land another star AND we need cap space to sign another. That is the direction they need/should go imo.

I would trade Hill, I don't think his game will get significantly better, he is what he is... Patterson seems to be a pretty well rounded higher IQ player and I wanna see him play a bit more of before we trade him.

    Nene + Al Harrington

    for

Jordan Hill + Chase Budinger + Jeffries + TE

    Nene/Miller
    Scola/PPat/Hayes
    Battier/Harrington/T Will
    Martin/Lee
    Lowry/Brooks/Ish

I would then trade Battier/Brooks/Yao/Picks for an upgrade at any position.

I would love to get OJ Mayo on this team. He is a better version of C.Lee. Mayo has a lot more option on offence, can create his own shot pretty well. Can create some plays as well. Plus he can hold his own in defence as well. Has proven more than capable in the few years he has played so far. Lee would stiol be a good back-up option.

K.Martin for OJ Mayo plus Thabeet.

If not Mayo, then how about just Thabeet?

    B.Miller for Thabeet.

Is Beasley a PF or SF? Or he can play both?
Is Love comfortable at playing at the C?

I have a feeling a lot of board members will hate this proposal.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4uapj8x

We give up Scola, Lee and Brooks. We gain Milicic, Johnson and rights to Rubio (add Bud as a sweetener, a backup 3 for Beasley?).

I believe Johnson will become a great player. Rubio too I guess..... Milicic would be the defensive C we need.

Now if Beasely is comfortable at the 3 and Love at the 5, then Scola would be a perfect fit. Brooks, whom they have been asking about is brought in and Lee is an upgrade over Brewer (a tid bit).

    Brooks
Lee (face it, Lee is better then Brewer)
    Beasley
    Scola
    Love

    Lowry (next year Rubio)
    Martin
    Battier (next year Johnson)
    Patersen
    Milicic

On that note, we might be able to add 3 million for them to take and B/O Battier. Why Battier and not Jeffries? Because we can buyout Jeffries if no trade is found without us looking like punks for buying out Battier. If he returns to us, cool, if not, whatever. That would save us a lot of money come LT time.

    Guys take a look at this;

Detroit gets rid of Charlie V and Rip Hamilton's contracts, for this purpose they lose Monroe but getting Chase Budinger. Pure re-building.

Dallas does it because they're getting completing a contender with this trade. It really hurts to give Battier to Dallas and making Cuban's team contender but this is a oppurtinity which we can't miss. Also I want to see Battier go far in the playoffs, he deserves it more than anyone.

Indiana likely to do this IF Danny Granger really wants to leave. They get 2 very good young prospects and 2 future ****ty draft picks, It's maybe more than what NJN offers to Denver for Carmelo. Pure-rebuilding vol.2

We're doing it because we're getting Danny Granger without losing much and Greg Monroe, who has length and basketball iq to be a very very good Pf/C. It's hard to swallow Charlie V's contract but if Adelman is okay with Brad Miller's 4.2 million dollar contract, giving Charlie V 7 million for 3 years is nothing. He can be a good scoring punch from the bench.

    Lowry/Brooks/Ish
    K.Martin/Courtney Lee
    Granger/Posey
    Scola/Charlie V/Hill
    Monroe/Hayes/B.Miller

Then sign Yao for Mle this summer and bring him off the bench for 15 minutes till playoffs. Don't forget the pray for Yao's legs while regular season.

I really really want Mayo and Gasol from the Grizzlies. I would gladly part with the follwing : - AB+Martin+Scola.

    Lowry/Smith
    Mayo/Lee
    T-Will/?????
    Patterson/Hayes
    Gasol/?????

Then use any combo out of Battier+Hill+Bud+Miller+JJ to acquire reserve SF and C.

Read on Hoopsworld that Bobcats & Cavs are working on a deal that would bring G Wallace to Cleveland for trade exemption and maybe a future pick. G Wallace is IMO the defensive wing that we could use, and he comes on the cheap.

Been saying all season that we should pursue J Smoove & / or G Wallace plus a big like Dalembert or McGee .

    Imagine:

    Aaron / Lowry
    Martin
    J Smoove or G Wallace
    Scola
    Dalembert or McGee,

With Pat Pat comming off the bench.

    Offence with Defence

    THOUGHTS ?

God knows we could use the defense. Maybe the layup line that currently serves as our "d" would, you know, maybe OPPOSE someone going to the basket.

If the Bobcats want to dump Wallace for a T/E then WOW, Yao's contract may make sense here. Haven't heard the Rockets linked to Wallace but I remember the Cats had some interest in Yao's contract. I would try and get in on this and maybe make it some sort of a 3-way to get a center out of it.
