Why not just post a photoshop of Cleveland collectively flogging themselves? Why on earth would they do that deal?
They get rid of a bad contract in Gibson, get an expiring in Jeffries, and Budinger would probably be their best wing player, LOL. Plus, they are really interested in Blatche as well. The Cavaliers have inquired with the Wizards about Andray Blatche, according to Bob Finnan of the News-Herald. It was reported by multiple sources last week that Washington was shopping both Blatche and JaVale McGee following their off-court altercation. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/70900/20110102/cavaliers_have_inquired_about_blatche/#
After hearing the trade rumors swirling around the Blazers, I had this pipe dream that LeMarcus Aldridge would magically become available for the right deal. Well, after last night's game, that bubble's been burst: no way Portland's going to deal him.
No only Houston and NJ will be satisfied. Denver will be left out in the cold will no food or water for the rest of the season. You're basically trading: Melo(star)+Nene(good player) = Yao(injured)+Jeffries(useless)+Favors(alright)+Bud(alright i guess...) And NJ...well New Jersey would probably give their whole roster just to see Melo in their jersey.
I'm a huge fan of Josh Smith, would love to see him in Rockets Red. Other than that, since Sac knows that Carl Landry wants out, we could put together a decent package to get Cousins, Carl and Caspi. Other options could be Bargnani, McGee or Whiteside. Something has to and will be done before the deadline. In a perfect world Cp3, Dwight and Melo would all demand to bring their talents to Clutch City.
True but Denver would like the expiring contracts and we could problly through some draft pick in there

Timberwolves/Rockets Trade: T-wolves get: Chuck Hayes Chuck provides some veteran leadership on a very young minny team.. Rockets get: Kosta Koufos Is a 7'1 center with a 7'5 wingspan and a 9'5 standing reach, he has tremoundus size as well as some developing skills with a good basketball IQ. He has potential to be a defensive anchor for many years to come, given that his only 21yrs old and his not getting much playing time with Minny right now.
In fairness to Koufas, he is playing behind two pretty good centers in Darko and Pekovic. But, yeah, I'm not too interested. Especially not for a key rotation piece in Hayes.
Sure, why not? But it will probably also take cash and a future second rounder to get MIN to take on that salary.
Jesus, Blatches PER sucks for what he is supposed to be, I wonder if Hollinger just goes and manually takes away a few points for being such a headcase.
Sounds more like a first rounder, otherwise Morey would be so quick in making that deal that he'd forget to take Koufos with him.
Morey won't "salary dump" Jeffries until the last second. He wants to keep his salary on hand just in case he needs expiring contracts for salary matching purposes in a larger trade for a star player. Once the trade deadline hits, Jeffries will most likely be owed ~$2.3M (or less) in remaining salary for the year, but the Rockets can include up to $3M in any trade. So, a team like the Wolves or Kings might be willing to take a net profit of $700k (or more), essentially get a good defender in Jeffries for free, plus a second round pick. No way Morey trades a first rounder to dump Jeffries. Especially not after trading the future first to get T-Will.
I understand what you have nicely explained but if rumors of a buyout were truth then a salary dump doesn’t look that far off. Personally, what you said is exactly what I would want Morey to do with him, keep his expiring just in case we needed it, I did not propose to trade him plus a first rounder, I said it more because that’s what I perceive the asking price would be for a salary dump, according to what happened last year.
Give up Yao and Jordan Hill to our friends in Sacramento for Dalembert and Whiteside. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeM...tradeId=28xrb2t Rotation: PG - Lowry/Brooks/Smith SG - Martin/Lee SF - Battier/Budinger/Williams PF - Scola/Patterson/Whiteside C - Dalembert/Hayes This trade seems feasible (good relationship with the Kings, they aren't a rival), and beneficial to both teams.
