Ok how about this... 1) Draft Ekpe Udoh from Baylor to play backup 4/5 2) Trade Battier, Hill and The Knicks 2012 1st rd pick for Al Jefferson 3) Sign Camby with the LLE 4) Mike Miller with a portion of the MLE or Manu with the whole amount. 5) If Mike Miller is brought in then buy a 2nd round pick and sign with remaining portion of the MLE. 6) Resign Scola/Lowry Yao/Camby/Udoh Jefferson/Scola/Udoh Ariza/Budinger Martin/Manu or Miller Brooks/Lowry Deep, tough and balanced squad...
Sign Manu instead of Miller and you've got yourself a deal! I would love to see the on court chemistry between Manu and Scola!
I would rather draft Xavier Henry, Cole Aldrich, Larry Sanders than draft Ekpe Udoh.. and no thanks to Al Jefferson, the guy takes up to much space in the post to play along side Yao, we need a more agile PF to play along side Yao... --RB
How about Kevin Love and Ramon Sessions for Jeffries, our draft pick this year, and NY's draft pick in 2012?
Kevin Love only makes sense as a replacement for Luis. I would rather retain Lowry instead of Sessions, who hasn't played well since he left the Bucks. I would like to retain the 2012 NY pick too. Kevin is a good player, but we need an athletic 5/4 instead of him. You're giving up too much for a couple of role players. I'm not implying that some of the raw "bigs" coming out of the draft are better than him. Packaging the picks plus Brooks, may lead to better players being available through trade or by moving up the draft.
I'll admit to not watching Udoh outside of the tourny but dam he looked like a good player. Yao will only play about 20-25 mpg so spacing should not be the reason to avoid a 20 and 10 guy who shoots 50% while blocking 1.5 a night. Yao can also play the high post which is luxury many teams don't have.
Well we also need a an "Athletic" 4 that can switch to the 5 (Stoudemire or Bosh) when Yao goes out so we can switch to an uptempo team when Yao's on the bench resting....and Al Jefferson is more of a traditional half court Big.... Plus with Stoudemire we know from the trade deadline, he could be had for Scola & Battier+ Draftpick(NY)...http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4924306...so his always an option In case we can't land Chris Bosh....IMO --RB
He is 7ft 3 plays D, rebounds, and blocks shots. He will not get in the way of the at the other end; but he can finish around the rim. Hill was unproven aswell. They need a small forward with Gay on his way out. We need out of Batties contract and Budinger is cheap for what he MAY become. I think it works both ways.
rockets should go after darren collison this offseason + peja stojkavich by giving up kyle lowry + shane battier (expiring contract next year)
I really want to trade for Ricky Rubio.... I still like my original Idea which was to trade: Brooks Budinger NY picks(2011/2012) for Rights to Ricky Rubio... Hopefully Kahn is tired of being blasted for drafting a player who didn't want to play in his city to begin with, which will cause him to pull the trigger on this type of trade....(which I think his getting more than fare value in return) --RB
thats waaay too much to give up for Rubio. I don't think they would want brooks.. they already have a similar player in Johny Flynn. I would give up Jared Jeffries expiring deal + this years 1st rounder + 2011 Knicks pick. trade Brooks for someone like Anthony Randolph or Marreese Speights OR trade Brooks for a 1st round pick (maybe the Pacers would give up their lottery pick if they don't get John Wall...they need a PG badly).
I am with you bro, Rubio would be outstanding in a Rox uniform but agree with Egghead that this is WAY to much to give up. I would also think Minny would want to get something other then a PG in exchange for his rights. I would offer Budinger and our lotto pick this season. for Rubio Love Bud but Rubio will be special and this will allow us to make more moves this offseason since we won't see Rubio till 11-12.
Okay I like your Idea Better..... Rubio & Monroe(Indi. 8th-9th pick)....we would be set for the next decade... --RB
You want to give up: - the front runner of the MIP - a surprise 2nd rounder that has shown some crazy explosiveness - and potentially a future lotto pick For: a pissy 19 year old kid who has yet to prove himself in the NBA? Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I think Rubios stock has falling a tad bit oddly enough. I think most overseas players values are usually highest when/if they get in the draft. Not sure why, but it seems like Kahn could've sold him for more in June that now.
