I actually think Deron Williams could be had for the right price. He isn't happy with the Jazz for trading Brewer and will be even more unhappy when they let Boozer walk. If they hit it big in the Lottery(WALL) then I REALLY think the idea will be discussed but honestly NO idea what they would want for him.

The Hornets time and time again have been one of the cheapest franchises. That's why I don't even care about that team. I honestly think CP3 could be moved 2010-11 season or next. They'll see Collison putting up those numbers and they don't want to pay CP3 his Max contract. It would be nice to have Paul, he's one of my favorites players. I think they will try and move West though before Paul...but yes Collison is legit.
Agree but his comments were pretty harsh after they dealt Brewer this past week plus if they get Wall....who plays PG because neither are SG and neither should be a backup. Pipe dream but when has Morey done the expected? :grin:
I don't think this trade would be good for us short & long term. 1. Chris Paul dominates the ball too much. He's so used to being the first option offensively as well. That is the last thing we need at the PG position. We'll have enough options next year. This is why Lowry is perfect for our team. 2. Injury Prone. Chris Paul is. 3. We have two above average PGs that blend in well with the team already. Plus, they're both quite young, meaning they have plenty of time to develop and become even better. Why take on bad contracts and decent players when we already have what CP3 has to offer... only in 2 PGs instead of one.
Chris Paul dominates the ball only to create. That's why I love the guy. As a PG he realizes his duty is to set up the offense and it's not like he just dribbles around without purpose. He's always probing the lane, trying to get the defense to collapse or looking to exploit the weak areas. This guy is happy to have a 12 point 14 assist game. Also he's just a hell of a competitor. I'd give up both Lowry/Brooks for Paul. He plays nearly all the minutes. He's injury prone though, but meh...i've stopped worrying about such things. If it's injury prone and he slacks off on rehab though. I don't want that type of player, but if it's injury because he's just playing hard, can't do anything about that.
they are not going to trade CP3. He's the face of the franchise. He kept them in New Orleans. He was Drew Brees before Drew Brees.
They should've traded CP3 while everyone was hungover during Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl celebrations. Maybe nobody would've noticed. This thread definitely has the right idea. I have to laugh at the people who are worried about trading Buddinger or worry about CP3 dominating the ball. CP3 is considered the best point guard in the NBA, period. Games come down to the end of the 4th Q and do you guys want AB to have the ball late or CP3? Not sure Morey has enough weapons in the holster to pull this off and not sure the Hornets want to see CP3 in their division... but, if anybody can do this, Morey can. He might have to bring in a 3rd team to up the ante. One thing I'll say for sure... AB isn't a Championship point guard (at least as a starter). I trust Lowry late in games over AB. Plus, Lowry can contribute when he's not scoring. If we're status quo going to next year, Lowry should start. He's a better match with a Yao and Kevin Martin roster. Bosh will probably be the priority this Summer because you have to match up with the Lakers... but CP3 is an intriguing possibility.
There were 2 player who had a top 5 ortg and drtg one was lebron I will let you guys guess other one.
Here's hoping the Hornets continue to hemorrhage money into perpetuity. Paul can be a tad whiny, but his skills are all-world.
I would have to imagine the Hornets would cash in Collison before Paul if only because of the money and recognition behind the Paul brand. The guy is a superstar in a league full of wannabees with international star power.
1. Dominating the ball without purpose is bad, but that's not chris paul. He'll actually be able to get the ball to the right people and if he shoots, it's 50% fg rather than 40%ish from brooks or lowry. 2. injury prone-he is not. this is the first year he's missed really significant amount of games. don't think that qualifies him as "prone" yet. That term should be reserved for people like camby. 3. Only if average is changed to mean bottom third. compared to our division, aaron brooks might be the 2nd worst one. parker, kidd, cp are all better than brooks. among other teams in the west, at least 3 teams from each division is better than brooks: {phoenix, golden state, sacramento(if brooks counts as a pg so does tyreke)}, {okc, utah, denver}
I hope hope hope Morey can get it done. I actually like the proposed deal alot (Battier/Budinger/Hill/Jefferies/2 NY picks), it is something which could help this squad. Maybe replace Budinger with our lottery pick in the upcoming draft (since we know that Bud can be a solid role player for us).
I agree that Paul actually might be avaliable. Looking at the trade proposal, the main problem I see is that NO will actually probably want Lowry over Brooks because Brooks and Collison are too much like the same player. And as Brooks as our back up PG behind Paul, I would be very happy.
I pay the kings ransom for Deron Williams. But CP3? Somehow I just do not like his game. Can't really put a fault in his game.
They have talked about moving him before actually because they have HUGE financial issues. Financially this team is just behind Sacramento I'd say, with problems. Paul demands a lot of money and he has shown signs of being unhappy with being in NO. The better comparison would be the Florida Marlins, trying to stay competitive and win, while not paying a lot in salaries. NO has made some moves withing the last two years that clearly show that they care more about their financial issues then winning a championship.
