TMac for Rip, Kwame and Wilcox works salary wise, and gets the Rockets under the luxury tax. But Rip is an old 31, has injury issues, and has three years left on his contract after this one. If we got the 28 year old Rip, that would be a deal, not so sure now.
Hamiton probably could be acquired for McGrady, but due to Hamilton's contract it's not likely that the Rockets would want to do it.
I know its been posted before but Heat/ Rockets Trade Rockets get: Jermaine O'neal Michael Beasley The rockets do it, b/c they get a big Expiring contract & a big body(7'0 ft) for the rest of the year, and get to move Landry to the starter's spot, while grooming Beasley(20 yrs old) to live up to his potential, specially since the staff is really good at developing potential...(ex. Brooks, Landry, Lowry) Heat Get: Tracy McGrady Luis Scola They have been showing great interest in McGrady, and get a border line All-star in Scola, this may help them retain Wade...
I highly doubt the Heat would want to part with Beasley unless Landry and or Brooks are in the equation.
Utah Jazz get: Tracy McGrady Houston Rockets get: Andrei Kirilenko C.J. Miles Kosta Koufos AK47 gives us a surplus at SF and is overpaid, but in certain matchups he could play from SG to PF and has a great all around game. Underrated defensive player. Gets blocks, rebounds, steals, runs the floor well, I think would fit this team great! C.J. Miles is a young SG who may or may not pan out for us but has good size and a good offensive game. Kosta Koufos would be the main reason for this trade. Young and raw 7footer with plenty of upside. Bring him in now and let him develop with our players and coaching staff. When Yao returns next season he can take him under his wing and in the near future, Koufos could be a big time player in this league
I know we as Rockets fans hate on the Jazz but they have some good players. I would love to have Deron Williams but that's not likely to ever happen!
