The Rockets would be stupid to take that deal. Brand would hurt them long term. Dalembert comes off the books though the following year.
I'd take Dalembert and Brand to get Iguodala. But don't see Philly doing it. They want to keep AI and find a taker for the other two. Dalembert is servicable, the closest thing to Dikembe out there, and will be an expiring next season. Brand still has some game left but his contract is the real stinker. All the same, when healthy he is a 20/10 machine. Philly won't do it.
This is the huge one: McGrady Battier Landry Cook Brooks Dorsey Jermaine and our first rounder for Chris Paul Emeka Okafor David West James Posey Leaves us with Chris Paul/Lowry Budinger/Posey Ariza/Posey Okafor/Hayes/Andersen Scola/West/Andersen and then we add Yao to the mix next season This leaves N.O. with Brooks/Collison Thornton/Battier/Mo Pete Peja/J. Wright Hilton Armstrong/Songaila Landry/Diogu N.O. winds up with a bunch of young guns with good value contracts, a couple draft picks, and a bunch of 2010 expiring contracts to trade for more picks/talent. This, of course, takes into account they buy out McGrady and free him to go where he wants to go. We could sign him back and vet minimum or we could go get one of Rashard McCants, Stackhouse, or Wally S. If we could somehow entice New Orleans to do this deal but to include Peja instead of D.West and Posey, and we keep Landry, it would be better for us. But I would think N.O. would be holding out for the total makeover including Landry and D.West.
Tmac, Brooks, Landry, 2009 1st Rounder for Chris Paul, Peja, Posey This sounds like the most plausible trade I could come-up with while getting CP3 here.
Three team trade B/t: Houston, Chicago, Utah Houston Gets: Tyrus Thomas Andre Kirilenko Knick's 1st pick(Possible 1st overall) Houston does it b/c this allows them to have a great chance at the first pick(knick's suck) but still win games and make the playoffs and it gives them a young Power Forward with explosive potential and makes our bench that much stronger.... Chicago Gets: Carlos Boozer Chicago has shown in interest in getting boozer all summer.... Utah Gets: Tracy McGrady Jerome James Utah does it b/c they can get rid of Ak47 Ugly contract, and they have shown interest this past summer of moving Boozer, and they also get two big expiring contract for the summer of 2010.... Lineup 09/10 Brooks/ Lowry Ariza / Budinger Battier/ Kirilenko Scola / Landry Hayes / Thomas/Andersen and with the 1st pick draft John Wall..... -rocketblaze
McGrady/Taylor/Dorsey for Mobley/Milicic/Chandler/Hill/Future 2nd Clean trade that gives the Rockets two nice prospects (both good defensive players), another big body, without damaging their cap flexibility next year, and saves the Rockets ~4.5 million of the cap which equals to ~9 million in tax dollars. PG: Brooks/Lowry SG: Battier/Budinger SF: Ariza/Chandler/Cook PF: Scola/Landry/Anderson C: Hayes/Hill/Milicic

Got bored so heres a random trade Houston Rockets get Al Horford C Atlanta Hawks Chris Paul PG NO Hornets Gerald Wallace SF Charlotte Bobcats Jeff Teague G Atlanta Hawks Charlotte Bobcats get Jamaal Crawford SG Atlanta Hawks Chase Budinger SF Charlotte Bobcats NO Hornets get Aaron Brooks PG Houston Rockets Tracy McGrady SG Houston Rockets 2 unprotected first rd draft choices from the Houston Rockets 1 first round pick from the Atlanta Hawks The Atlanta Hawks get Shane Battier SF Houston Rockets David West PF NO Hornets Hilton Armstrong C NO Hornets Trade works money wise heres the link http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine I didnt know how to add in draft picks on the trade machine sorry. Anyhow guys let me know what you think of the trade.
What do you think of a trade involving: Tmac SF to Milwakee Redd SG and Elson C or Kurt Thomas C to Rox If they include Elson, we would be getting a lesser player than Thomas, but that would put us (i think) under the luxury tax. If we get Thomas we pay less Tax (3M less) but we are not below it. Right now Redd is comming off the bench for Milwakee, so i don't think they want this to continue much longer.
I hate to burst the buble and i'm a optimistic person, but some of the trade scerios are funny. What's even funny or sad is a team like the knicks with their expiring contracts can offer a better deal than the rockets if bosh or paul became availible. Why do I say that? Let me ask a question or pose a scerio. Bosh wants out and toronto knows it. The rockets start their offer with mcgrady, the knicks start with lee and harrington. Who benefits your team more now?
