Scenario 3: McGrady to New Orleans D.West to Sacramento Okafor/Martin to Houston Explosive wing and bigman problem solved.
Richard Justice said the Rockets think a player/s better than Chris Bosh could be available. He also mentined that they tried to trade half the team to get Rubio: http://thegame.podbean.com/2009/11/23/jerome-solomon-11-23-09/ Is McGrady going to be moved? Looking at some hypotheticals. I did some number crunching... * 170 days of regular season. Players salaries are based around, paid out in regular season. * From Dec 1st - Apr 14 (end of season) is 135 days * $22,843,124 is McGrady's salary * Guesstimate of insurance payout (80%) for McGrady's contract during that period is $14,512,102.306 * Rockets can add maximum cash considerations in any trade which is $3M McGrady worth $17.5M cash to the team who trades for him? Here are two seperate scenarios from a money perspective. One involves Ricky Rubio, the other Chris Paul: T-WOLVES Blount + Cardinal + Wilkins + rights to Rubio for McGrady * T-Wolves add $4,495,749 to their team payroll = worth $13M cash to the T-Wolves? HORNETS New Orleans Hornets as they stand are over luxury tax for 2009-10 and 2010-11. Chris Paul + Peja Stojakovic for McGrady * Hornets reduce their payroll this season by $4M * Avoid around $4M of LT * Become eligible for the $2-5M of luxury tax pool money = worth $24.5M to 27.5M cash to the Hornets? In 2010-11 trade also reduces the Hornets payroll by $26.9M to the league minimum.
Not that I think New Orleans would trade away their meal ticket, but they would want Aaron Brooks in this scenario.
^^I would LOVE this trade, dont know about NO and Sac Town though.. Brooks/Lowry Martin/Budinger Ariza/Battier Scola/Landry Oakfer/Hayes/Andersen
It seems like there are problems arising in Washington with Caron Butler. If somehow, Rockets can pull of a trade, I think he would fit in nice with our team. The problem is, if we trade Tmac, we would have to involve a third team because most of Washington's players are not even close to Tmac's salary and the Rockets can't take too many players back.
I was just throwing out thinking aloud about how much it would take for these so called cash strapped teams to bite. Add Brooks and Hilton Armstrong to the mix and the Hornets save $28.6M this season. I know franchise suicide if they do do it.
I don't see how we can trade with Washington without them including Arenas or Jamison. And i don't want any of both. Best case i think would be. TMAC for: Oberto, Center, expiring 2 millions. Blatche, Center, 3 years, 3 millions for this year. Mike Miller, SG, expiring 9 millions. Mike James, PG, expiring 6 millions. Not sure why would the Wizards do this.
what about TMAC and dorsey for Butler and miller, the wizards will get some expiring and we get some talent in return and a bit of expiring as well. foye has been playing well and i think tmac would get ample time there.
Honestly, wizards are our best trading partner for Tmac...i want to get Butler and McGee..in return, we give them Tmac,Dorsey,Cook...not sure if it works...we give them cap relief for sure and we get our big man.
Hornets would want young talent back plus you'd have to take some bad contracts. Maybe Paul, Okafor, and Posey for McGrady, Brooks, Budinger, and Dorsey? PG: Paul / Lowry SG: Ariza / Taylor SF: Battier / Posey PF: Scola / Landry / Hayes C: Yao / Okafor / Andersen You seem to be spending a lot of money on a backup center in Okafor, but you might have to accept that to get Paul. Plus, given Yao's health, a primo backup is probably a good idea.
Tracy McGrady+Shane Battier+Brian Cook For Andre Iguodala+Elton Brand+Samuel Dalembert I think Phila would strongly consider this just to get rid of Brand and Dalembert's contract.
