Zach and Jaric? Look, there's taking garbage contracts to get your hands on Chris motherf'ing Paul, and there's taking garbage contracts to get Marc Gasol (particularly the king of r****ded contracts in Randolph). I would quit the Rockets if this trade occured.
Zach Randolph? Thanks but no thanks. Meanwhile, the Griz is a young franchise and is pacing well towards the completion of its rebuilding.Either O.J.Mayo or Rudy Gay could be their franchise player, therefore they wouldn't spoil their dream to acquire Tracy McGrady.
Can we trade for McGee of the Wizards? I believe he's not used there due to abundance of big men..he got the length and mobility a big man should have in our system...is Dorsey+fillers would be okay to get him?
I'd imagine they'd be delighted, as we should be able to get much more for that 20 tmillion expiring contract. That said I love the idea of getting Gasol.
Depends. How long are the contracts of "Cancer Randolph" and "Garbage Jaric". I love Gasol but there is no way I'm taking two garbage contracts for him. My first instinct is that Morey laughs and hangs up the phone.
Don't think Memphis would be willing to trade Marc Gasol and I don't think Roxl would be willing to take that albatross of a contract along with Zach Randolph.
TMAC/Cook For Emeka Okafer/Peja S. Rox do it for a center who is versitile enough to slide to 4 when Yao returns and would give the Rox the luxury of let Yao's comeback happen at a slower rate along with providing insurance. Peja had his best years in Adelman's offense and has been shooting at 38 percent from 3-point land so would fit right into a 3 point centered attack. Contracts suck but like I said Okafer gives you insurance and could create a twin tower situation when Yao returns. Peja's deal runs through next season and could be valuable at next years trade deadline if the Rox decide to trade him or he could expire with Yao's deal. NOLA does because it gives Paul a running mate another "star" that can help him take some of the load off and gives him the impersation that NOLA is dedicated to him and winnning, worst case it frees up cap space next summer to aquire another player. Cook is cap space nothing more. All this is kinda predicated on TMAC coming back strong and playing well, a bad TMAC and I am sure NOLA won't do it just for the cap space. Brooks/Lowry Peja/Chase/Free Agent? Ariza/Battier/Taylor Scola/Landry/Dorsey Okafer/Hayes/Andersen/Yao in 2010-11 depending on additonal trades and FA pickups.... Brooks/Lowry/Free Agent? Peja/Chase/Free Agent? Ariza/Battier/Taylor Okafer/Scola/Hayes Yao/Landry/Andersen
The Wizards will laugh and hang up the phone. Dorsey's value right now is no more than a bottom 2nd round draft pick right now.
Memphis probably don't even know who Marc is, that franchise is clueless. Maybe we can trade Tmac for Hasheem though...
Have you watched Emeka or Peja? They are both the antithesis of the player types Morey is targeting. Overpayed and undertalented/too old/inneffective. Emeka @ 6-7 mill would be a nice player. Emeka @ 10m is a salary cap burden. (btw, we are getting similar production out of Hayes already) Peja hasn't been good in years and has no spot on this team. I'd rather let McG expire.
Emeka is avging 11 and 10 with 2 block shots per game in an offense that doesn't suit him...I love Chuck but he is avg 6 and 6 with NO interior shotblocking, minus charges, in roughly 5 less min, how is that similar production? Imagine Okafer running the court in Adelman's offense like a freaking train. Peja had injury issues but I am banking on him exceling in an offense he knows and has had great success in the past while it sure does look like we will be seeing tons of 3s go up and he still does that very well. The contract on Okafer is an issue and thats why it would require a commitment but I just love the way the team will look with Yao back in the lineup in 10-11.
the offenses are similar and the hornets try to push with Paul. Paul and Chandler had success in this together, yet Okafor and Paul have had none. What's the variable that changed. Why would that be different on the Rockets? Chuck makes 4 mill less and is arguably a better defender. IMO, he is a better fit because of contract. I do agree that Okafor is a better player, but in the salary cap age you have to consider pay v production. I would be quite intrigued on how Okafor would work with Yao, but then you are cutting into a players minutes (Scola/Landry and to a lesser extent Andersen) and paying 10mil for a backup. Too much money in one position for my taste. again, this is all just my opinion, and last year, I advocated an Artest for Peja trade, so lord knows I've been wrong before and will be wrong again.
Picking up Peja and Okafor really doesn't do anything for this team. All it does is add two massive burdens to our payroll that we will have to deal with for the next few years while playing mediocre ball. Peja and Okafor aren't the kind of players that put you over the top, especially at this point in their careers. We're less than a year away of having the massive albatross hanging from our neck released. Why would you want to add two more?
Proposing Zach Randolph in any trade to your team is case in point for people who just looks at box score stats to determine players relevance. I hear Ricky Davis and Antoine Walker are free.
Okafer gives you inside presence, isn't that what we lack? Peja gives you a shooter in a 3 point centered attack. I think both can help ALOT but even more when Yao returns, thats where it will pay off. Peja's contract expires same year as Yao's so that would be a massive cap space coming open and I REALLY think that TMAC needs to be traded or we are not going to be getting anyone to help the squad in the summer of 2010.
