This is the big x factor in this whole situation. If the Knicks feel confident about Lebron, then they can afford to give away Chandler(another SF) while getting rid of Marbury.
Scola, Artest, and Head for Chris Bosh This will give the Rockets size upfront, someone who can block shots and score. It will improve our defense in the paint. Also, the Rockets will have nearly $40 mil of contracts coming off the books in 2010 (Tracy, Bosh, and Battier)
Of all the things I've ever heard about Chris Bosh, improving his team's defense has never been on that list. /shrug
Why trade away a young 14 ppg SF with lots of upside for a near-washed up SF averaging 16 ppg and staring at his downhill decline, and hurting your cap situation in the same move? Isiah isn't running the Knicks anymore.
His numbers are; 22.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 4.0 apg., 1.2 bpg uh ur I would take that next to Yao. Plus you have someone one who could move their feet opposite him. Yao and Scola are too slow, you need someone to off set that. We don't have any athletes in our starting rotation!!!!
Enough of this! Just send TMac, Brooks, and Dorsey to LA for Baron Davis and Marcus Camby. Both are available, you take your biggest weakness (PG) and make it a strength, and you raise your defense. Clips do it for the salary relief and a couple of young (i.e. cheap) assets. To me, TMac and the Clips are a match made in heaven. They're both just pretending to compete.
Ron Artest Luther Head Von Wafer (to be cut) for Peja Stojakavic Sean Marks (to be cut) NO - gets grittier and sheds salary as owner needs out of some long term contracts. stays competitive and possible even better. Rox - get a player that fits with Yao and McGrady, runs Adelmans system and moves Battier to the bench.
No way you'll see a trade within the division between playoff caliber teams. Not a bad idea, but still, no way, never.
Not that I think intra-division trades are likely, but answer me this. How did we get Bobby Jackson last year?
