LINK Tracy McGrady (2 years) Ron Artest (expiring) Luther Head (expiring) for Vince Carter (4 years, 4th year TEAM option) Bobby Simmons (2 years) *Keyon Dooling (3 years) *The Nets may insist on Najera (4 years) instead of Dooling.
I think it is win -win -win NEts can still wait for LBJ,and they have a great PF. SUNS can get 3 talent PF of different style~ Rockets can get the hope to try a Champion
McGrady/Battier/Head for Gordon/Nocioni/Hughes Alston/Brooks/Barry Gordon/Hughes/Wafer Artest/Nocioni Scola/Landry/Hayes Yao/Mutombo
The Rockets add Carter's questionable contract and lose Battier, but this should make them a better offensive team. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...6~2763~136~998&teams=17~17~17~10~10&te=&cash= New Jersey Nets Incoming Players Photo: Luther Head Luther Head Salary: $1,962,378 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 4.8 REB: 1.2 AST: 1.6 PER: 9.92 Photo: Ron Artest Ron Artest Salary: $7,400,000 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 15.8 REB: 5.3 AST: 3.1 PER: 15.34 Photo: Shane Battier Shane Battier Salary: $6,448,900 Years Remaining: 3 PTS: 6.4 REB: 4.9 AST: 2.2 PER: 9.35 Outgoing Players: Vince Carter, Trenton Hassell Houston Rockets Incoming Players Photo: Vince Carter Vince Carter Salary: $14,724,125 Years Remaining: 4 PTS: 20.8 REB: 5.1 AST: 4.9 PER: 20.54 Photo: Trenton Hassell Trenton Hassell Salary: $4,350,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 3.3 REB: 2.4 AST: 0.7 PER: 8.27 Outgoing Players: Luther Head, Ron Artest, Shane Battier
The Rockets cannot win with Rafer running the point. Period. Deal One = Yao Ming and Luther Head to Atlanta for Al Horford, Josh Smith, and Speedy Claxton Deal Two = Ron Artest, Luis Scola, Rafer Alston to the Clippers for Baron Davis End Result Starters = C - Al Horford PF - Josh Smith SF - Shane Battier PG - Baron Davis SG - Tracy McGrady Primary Bench = Frontcort - Mutombo, Landry, Hayes Backcourt - Brooks, Barry Our starting five gains heaps of athletic ability, more defensive presence, and more scoring punch. The deals are a financial fit as well. I say do them!
all of yall are morons if you want to trade artest. start artest over she mac artest comes into every game playing his heart out. how about the starting lineup of yao, scola, artest, wafer or battier, and alston. there is nothing wrong with alston yea he has bad shooting nights but look at she mac he couldnt score 10 pts on a highschool freshmen. Hate to say it but its time we give up on tmac. Yao and artest are the team now. also why on gods grean earth would you want to trade battier.
He isn't ideal, but unlike the other problems on this team, I think Battier's the least of them. I'd take this starting 5 any day over what we currently run out there. In this scenario, he wouldn't need to worry about scoring or hitting his 3's. We'd have major scoring upgrades at PF and PG. C - Al Horford PF - Josh Smith SF - Shane Battier PG - Baron Davis SG - Tracy McGrady Bench Frontcourt - Mutombo, Landry, Barry Bench Backcourt - Brooks, Wafer It could happen. This team would be athletic and could actually run. I think generating more offensive flow helps Battier and McGrady shake off their respective funks.
The answer to our Mcgrady problem I understand the Marbury trade has been explored but check this out. Trade Mcgrady + TE/Dorsey for Marbury + Wilson Chandler Why we do this trade? Chandler is young, athletic, decent shooter, good defender, and I can really see him developing into a Danny Granger type player. He is only 21 years old. Why they do this trade? They get rid of Marbury for something. Tmac is still capable of 17ppg/5assists and could possibly help them get to playoffs this year which is something Dantoni wants to do. They don't miss out on Lebron and I'm sure they have no interest in the 2009 FAs anyways. After this season Marbury(20m), Artest(8m), Butler+Reed(4m), Head(2m) = 34m come off the books. Then, we have money to resign Wafer and make a run at some of these FAs: Marion, B. Gordon, Iverson, Andre Miller, Odom, Navarro, Felton(R), Bibby Lets say we throw 6m at A. Miller and 8m to Odom and maybe bit less to a lesser FA such as Pachulia for backup C or resign Artest. So essentially we have traded Mcgrady for A.Miller+Odom+Pach+Chandler and we may even save a bit of money. Or we can stick with Mcgrady when even at his peak, he couldn't get us out of the first round. Do you really think he'll get a championship when hes on the decline?
