They need bigs, there lack of it is how teams like us beat them easily. They wouldn't trade their young talent for nothing. Shane would barely touch the floor there and Rafer probably wouldnt even be 2nd string pg there. Turiaf has like a 3 year contract, they should be able to deal with that.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=981~366~11~532&teams=10~10~8~8&te=&cash= Iverson can be our starting PG, and with AB as backup, Rafer is damn, recently he was terrible, and Adelman also gave AB much time. At position 2, Von wafer can do well. Although we re-signed Mutombo, by now he only played one game( Vs Lakers), Yao's backup is not well solved, Kwame Brown is a suitable center, we need he to control the rebs when Yao is rest. Also I think Iverson is better than tmac now, tmac is easier to get injured and no willing to win. Both of them are overrated to me.
How about trading for Anthony Parker? Seems he can be a good replacement for Battier..nice entry passer and can hit the 3 ball...I wonder how's his defense though..
Artest Brooks Head for Maggete M. Williams Ming/Hayes Scola/Landry TMAC/Battier Maggete/Barry Alston/Williams
I wouldnt trade brooks at the moment. He acts like a better pg then slawtomylu. getting maggete would cut into our funds for 2010 summer.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...=25~3249~635~1023&teams=28~10~10~10&te=&cash= Moon would give us a young talented rim aggressive SF, Parker is a good back up at the SG-PF(if we are going small for run and gun mode). We can release the other guy. And maybe get a draft pick? All contracts are expiring.
Brooks is part of the Rockets future. BD is a run and gun and wouldn't fit here IMO. But replace rafer with brooks and i like it.
How about this: Houston Trades: - Tracy McGrady - Luther Head Washington Trades: - Caron Butler - Gilbert Arenas Reasons Washington does this: 1. They get out from under Gilbert Arenas' long-term contract that has him there for 5 seasons and maybe no chance of playing. (Who else would take a $12,000,000 and growing contract of someone who isn't playing??) 2. They get to contend in the 2010 Sweepstakes and with neither Arenas' or Butler's contracts on the books, they are big time players. Would still have Antawn Jamison. Reasons Houston does this: 1. They get an upgraded replacement to Tracy McGrady in Caron Butler. 2. They get rid of Luther Head. 3. They potentially get an All-Star caliber point guard if Gilbert Arenas comes back healthy sometime in the future. (Sometimes you have got to take some crap back to get something good.) 4. They save some money in the short-run Houston Line-up: P.G. - Rafer Alston_____________Aaron Brooks_____________Gilbert Arenas S.G. - Caron Butler____________ Von Wafer_______________Brent Barry S.F. - Shane Battier___________ Ron Artest P.F. - Luis Scola______________ Carl Landry______________Chuck Hayes ..C. - Yao Ming_______________ Dikembe Mutombo________ Joey Dorsey
Oh yeah, not to mention, Washington is the worst team in the league so its not like they are anywhere close to being contenders. This gives them a clean slate!
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...~406~3231~2792&teams=15~15~10~10~10&te=&cash= Artest + Head for C.V. Ramon Sessions and damon jones. We get more size in C.V. and speed and youth in sessions. Maybe they can throw us a draft pick?
This is my first post on ClutchFans, a site I've always been a huge fan of. Thanks to Clutch for letting me in! Anyway, I'm such a fan of Troy up in Bird-Country, I can't help but offer this one: T-Mac (god bless him) Cash considerations for T. Murphy M. Daniels Worked in the Trade Machine!
Artest for Murphy would be awesome but why in the world would Indiana bring back Artest? He already gets booed there.
Not necessarily suggesting a trade here but did anybody notice what Anthony Parker did tonight versus the Lakers? With Calderon out he ran the point and racked up nine assists to one turnover. All the while shooting 3-6 from downtown (6-13 overall), 18 points total and kept his man in check on the other end. Not bad at all! The reason I point this out is we can all smell the dynamite in Toronto. They didn't trade for Jermaine O'Neal to be cellar-dwellers. Parker is a free agent at the end of the season and Toronto might be looking to move in a different direction given that he'll be 34 at the start of next season. All i'm saying is he's a player to keep an eye on given his situation with the Raptors and the fact that he's a 'win now' type of player.
Well, i'm interested in actually getting equal value for Artest if it comes to that. I was merely pointing out Parker's situation and how that could potentially make him a steal for pennies on the dollar.
toronto is not interested in short term contracts. they being a canada team have a hard time finding FA's.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...0~2768~1024&teams=11~11~11~10~10~10&te=&cash= Shane Battier, Rafer Alston, Luther Head for Marquis Daniels, Jarrett Jack, Jamaal Tinsley PG - Jack, Brooks/Tinsley SG - McGrady, Wafer, Barry SF -M.Daniels, Artest PF - Scola, Landry, Hayes C - Yao, Mutumbo, Dorsey
Like I said, wasn't suggesting anything in particular. I wasn't insinuating any possible scenario would be short term-for-short term either. Parker is unrestricted (IIRC) so they could lose him for nothing. Not necessarily an ideal situation losing a starter for nothing.
Ron Artest (HOU), Brent Barry (HOU) to Minnesota. Mike Miller (MIN), and Josh Boone (NJ) to Houston. Rashad McCants (MIN) and the conditional pick we got from Memphis to New Jersey.
