What is too much money for a PG? If the Rockets want to upgrade the PG position it's not going to happen via free agency with only the MLE to play with and they're not expecting to land high in the lottery where drafted players aren't guaranteed as advertised. http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2009/01/nba_takes_no_action_on_new_jer.html
Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Houston Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +0.8 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +2.2 apg. tmac for stephen jax would be good but why not magette, heard he was on the block as well. Also anthony parker and bargnani are on the block so it looks like we do have some options when it comes to trading. It just depends if they are willing to put a chance on him. I feel like tmac wants the ball a lot more then he is getting it but if he goes to toronto or the warriors i could definately see him getting what he wants. the problem, he wont run. i just hope he regains good form before we have no choice but to pull the trigger on a trade. Another team that we could work with is chicago because they have a glut of guards, perhaps hughes and hinrich, or even nocioni and hinrich. that would definately help us out
Maybe a few more back spasms from Nash and more gab with the media about signing with the Raptors or Knicks after previously dismissing such talk will make it a possibility?
That would never happen, but it's close kinda. All except the Nets move we get a up and coming Yi for a Hayes with a Grady-Carter swap yea right. Yi might turn out to be better then Yao. What will we do with 3 SF i know Scola is friends with Nocioni so what do we do with Battier if we have Artest?
I didn't even want Yi, he was just fiiller so the trade could go through on the Nets side because they were over the cap. Take Yi out and put in any garbage player of the Nets choosing. As long as we get rid of T-Mac's over inflated salary thats all i care about, and the way Vince is playing at about 5 million less a season thats a pretty nice trade for both sides since T-Mac's contract will be over in 2 years. And as far as Battier is concerned, he better start making his shots or I guess he would lose his spot.
If I was Les I would even eat the excess salary from T-mac just to make it happen. At least Nash doesn't make up any lame excuses as to why he can't make his shots.
I keep putting this idea out there and I think it would solve a lot of our problems. Rafer and head for Williams and Dooling. Battier for Outlaw and Frye. The rox get a atheletic, basket attacking backup pg and a atheletic 4/5 in williams. NJ gets a backup pg that comes off in their magical 2010 yr. The Portland deal the rox gets a atheletic, young player who can shoot the 3 and finish at the rim and a tall, young 4/5 in frye. The blazers get a vet that will help with the young guys andwont complain with his minutes. Battier will fit in with the youth. 2 moves, 7 players, and this team will be a a lot better.
