    McGrady (2yrs) + Alston (2yrs) for Hinrich (4yrs) + Hughes (2yrs) + Simmons (exp. filler) + 2009 1st round pick
    <table><tr><td><b>Hinrich</b>, Brooks, Head
    Hughes, Barry, Wafer
    Battier, Artest
    Scola, Landry, Dorsey, <b>Simmons</b>
    Yao, Deke, Hayes</td><td>Rose, <b>Alston</b>, <strike>Hunter</strike>
    McGrady, Gordon
    Deng, Nocioni, Thabo
    Gooden, Thomas, Ruffin
    Gray, Noah</td>
    </tr></table>

This trade would put Chicago over LT by $542,303.

Bulls could waive Hunter's non-guaranteed contract. Then sign a rookie to a pro-rated min contract to meet the minimum of 13 players on a roster.

I don't know if that would be enough for them stay under LT.

Bad idea they have plans for 2010.

I think a 3rd or 4th team would have to get involved like Bobcats, Warriors, Sixers, Wizards, Clippers.

No contender will give away youth.

I checked another website it appears several guys are on the block.

TMac + Rafer for Baron Davis + Camby

    Clippers start:

    Rafer Alston
    Eric Gordon
    Tracy Mcgrady
    Zach Randolph
    Chris Kaman

    Rockets start

    Baron Davis
    Ron Artest
    Shane Battier
    Luis Scola
    Yao (Camby off the bench)

Clippers do this trade because Davis was just recently signed and will be on the books for quite some time. Tmac will give them a bit of cap space, and Camby doesn't fit with Kaman and Randolph.

    BOOM

If we kept T-Mac and he continues to be a p***y, expect Artest to move out next season..

    I would like Davis too.

I hope les and the front office can see clearly that McLady is no where near the player he used to be when he first came to Houston.

Certainly injuries to a athlete will force a player to decline so much through out a career that keeping such players around is not worth it in a long run.

McGrady for Dalembert and Miller (Trade Machine verified).

McGrady would work better for Philly as their #2 guy behind Brand or even a #3 guy behind Igoudala than being depended on as our 1B.

We get the point guard that we need and a big man that fits in a lot better with Yao than anyone else we've paired him up with (i.e. a TALL and QUICK big man that can rebound and defend and wouldn't hurt us on the offensive end)

I would do this trade even if it meant we had to eat 3 years left of Dalembert's contract. The plus side is that Artest's and Miller's contract are up after this season so we get at least a smaller bit of wiggle room.

The roster in 2009-10 would be:

    <table><tr><td><b>Hinrich</b>, Brooks
    Hughes, Barry
    Battier
    Scola, Landry, Dorsey
    Yao, Hayes</td></tr></table>

In 2010 free agency Yao, Hinrich, and Battier are only players with guaranteed contracts. Landry, Brooks, and Hayes are team options. Dorsey is non-guaranteed. Scola would have a caphold of around $6.8M (not what he is going to get) which they can renounce.

    <table><tr><td><b>Hinrich</b>, Brooks
    (vacant)
    Battier
    Scola, Landry, Dorsey
    Yao, Hayes</td></tr></table>
Team salary including Scola's caphold would be around $40M.

I think this would be great for the Rockets.

    Houston Trades:
    - Tracy McGrady

    Miami Trades:
    - Shawn Marion

    . . . . and here's why. . . .

    1. Rockets save 3.9 million this year in salary.
    2. After the season the Rockets have up to 7 players coming off the roster totaling $30.478 million
    These players include:
    • Shawn Marion
    • Ron Artest
    • Jackie Butler
    • Luther Head
    • Justin Reed
    • Dikembe Mutombo
    • Von Wafer
    3. With this money the Rockets could sign up to 3 big name players in the offseason. Who would that be?
    • Shawn Marion - $12,000,000 (To Start)
    • Ron Artest - $12,000,000 (To Start)
    • Jason Kidd - $10,000,000 (To start)
We all know these 3 are exceptionally talented players who play with passion and lay it out on both ends of the court. Kidd is way past his prime (maybe shouldn't get $10,000,000) but he is the ultimate floor leader and if you are trying to win now other than Chris Paul and Deron Williams, he is still the one you want at the Point.
    4. You now have 3 of the top wing defenders in the league in Marion/Artest/Battier and one of the top defenders at the point position. Marion and Artest more than make up for the loss of offense by McGrady (which isn't saying much anymore)

    The roster goes from:

    P.G. - Rafer Alston / Aaron Brooks / ?
S.G. - Tracy McGrady / Brent Barry / Von Wafer / Luther Head
    S.F. - Shane Battier / Ron Artest / ?
P.F. - Luis Scola / Carl Landry / Chuck Hayes
..C. - Yao Ming / Dikembe Mutombo / Joey Dorsey

    TO:

P.G. - Jason Kidd / Aaron Brooks / Rafer Alston
    S.G. - Ron Artest / Brent Barry / ?
    S.F. - Shawn Marion / Shane Battier / ?
P.F. - Luis Scola / Carl Landry / Chuck Hayes
    ..C. - Yao Ming / Joey Dorsey / ?

    Just a thought.

    • None of those players compare to the 2010 crop.

I'd be hesitant to re-sign Artest at $8M let alone over $10M. He tries to dominate/overplay too much but he's not a franchise level player. IMO the Rockets struggling is making him look better than he is.

Here is how i would shake things up personally......We would basically take ourselves out of the 2010 sweepstakes but it is what it is and something has to be done before we end up lottery bound and actually become the dallas cowboys of basketball.....
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...7~532&teams=10~4~10~10~10~4~17~4~17&te=&cash=

new linup would be something like this

    Kirk Hinrich,Brooks
    Vince Carter,Wafer,Barry
    Shane Battier,Ron
    Scola,Drew Gooden (much needed length)
    Yao,Deke,Sean Williams

Now here are the reasons teams do this......Chicago cuts 17 million and are players somewhat come 2010 by moving Hinrich plus Gooden is on the block now, and Chicago also will be getting an up and comer with Landry which I think is a little more polished than Noah and Thomas plus a cheaper back up with Rafer who also has less years than Hinrich......Now New Jersey they have been looking to move Sean Williams for a while now and they were interested in Head for Williams earlier from what I have been reading on the internet....the reason they move Vince for Tracy is the fact Tracy will be off there books in 2010 and Vince will have 2 years left in 2010.......we all know that New Jersey is one of the teams trying to get Lebron with them moving to New York plus one of Lebrons good friends is part owner of the team so they may look to move Vince since they can not see themselves winning a championship with him there in the next 2 years...............
It's obvious why Houston does this deal in getting the PG they have been needing and also getting a SG who will actually play for you (Vince is playing well for a sorry ass New Jersey team right now so coming to Houston will be good for him).....Plus by bringing in Gooden we will get much needed length, size and atheletic help that we need in the front court..Sean Williams also will supply some of this help if we need him (Houston and Lakers WC Finals)

No he does not.....he will only make around 8 or 9 million after this year....he is way better than rafer around 40% three point area and around 44% inside the arch...rafer is around 30% all over plus Kirk get over 6 assist a game so you are wrong on him not being worth his money

Kirk Hinrich would be PERFECT for this team, and way better than Rafer at everything.
