It was a known fact that Nuggets were after Artest last season and Rockets tried to deal Alston as well before the season started. Another thing Carmelo requested a trade during the off season to Detroit while they was trying to land him or McGrady things did not fall through. During the off season staff was looking at Bird Anderson as well. Would you give up Artest, Battier and Alston for Anthony and Anderson because if i were Morey i would. I don't know were the Nuggets position as of right now, but i imagine if they are not in the playoff picture they would listen as they are not finished in trying to unload salary.
Denver is playing its best bball in the past 3 years. Why would they ever break apart thier team for this.
Mac and something for Wallace and Hamilton. I'm sure with some tinkering with the little pieces this trade might have a chance of going down. It would depend on the extra pieces we would have to give... going into the season probably could of done a straight swap. I just feel that Mac and RA just do not work... Rick is a good coach when he can run his system properly as we saw in his Sac days. I am not a Mac hater, I think hes a great player when fit but even when he is I just think you can't have him and RA and it work well enough for a title. Why I would do this trade: - Suddenly you have an above average shooter who can run all night long and isn't a offense stopper(Rip either shoots it or passes on)... much better for the RA system. - You get a guy who covers a lot of Rockets needs in Wallace. The big man who can hit the high jumper at a decent %, he can play backup C to Yao when hes on the bench with Scola/Landry able to play PF and not be out of position. -You get 2 players who will be a big part of your rotation who know what it takes to get deep into the playoffs. Reasons why maybe you wouldn't: - The Rockets window for winning a title would get smaller as Wallace's best days are behind him. - Artest and Wallace may be something bad waiting to happen. - For the Pistons to bite we would probably have to give up one of Landry, Scola or Brooks. However i'm ok with either of the PF's(would prefer Landry). Why they would: - They're not going to win a title since the Billups trade and they would have to know that. They will be thinking 2010 and T-Mac would be 20 mil plus bonus for that. - They get a year and half to see if T-Mac gets his game back to where it once was and if he doesn't then they are likely to pluck at least one big 2010 name. P.S I know this trade has been thrown around a lot but I think its by far the best where you can see it working for both sides...therefore making it more likely to happen.
id really like to see tmac/landry for okafor/bell/augustin, i think charlotte would like to unload okafors bloated deal and i think he'd fit perfect here, he'd be at home and most of all we'd get 2 guards who can hit shots which alston and tmac cant and bell is a heck of a defender and charlotte wanted carl in the offseason augustin/brooks bell/barry artest/battier okafor/scola yao/okafor basically have a 3 big rotation with okafor sliding over when yao needs a breather and bell/battier/artest are all lockdown defenders. Okafor blocks shots and owns the paint in terms of boards, we have firepower off the bench with brooks, scola, battier, and barry....im gonna get flamed but people tmac is never gonna be tmac again get over it, id love this deal to go down but charlotte wouldnt do it
Rafer + Hayes + Head for Westbrook Westbrook/Brooks T-Mac (If still alive)/Barry Battier/Artest Scola/Wafer Yao/Landry
and why would a team want to take 3 players for 1? 1 of whom is a rising prospect... Man people dont read the begining of this forum when it says be realistic...for both teams....
Les please make this trade happen, I promise it would solve everything. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...92&teams=21~15~21~10~21~10~15~15~10&te=&cash=
I love Landry and would hate to seem him go but I hate tmac so much that I would love this trade, ohh not to mention we get away with robbery on it
This trade has been suggested by me and plenty others in this thread.. trust me we all wish this happened during the offseason when tmac had some value but good idea though
I would also like to mention this trade: Houston Rockets get: Jeff Van Gundy Utah Jazz Janitorial Staff get: Rick Adelman
Great idea.. Bobcats want a superstar, so we give them a superstar, also we can deal tmac's big contract; Bell, he is a good defender, we need this type of player; while Okafor, his is a Houstonian, he will happy to come back to play for the Rockets; Augustin even he is a rookie, now he can score 10+ per game. If Morey do this trade I would be delighted.. In this trade, we surely the winner, JVG is better as our coach.. we need JVG's defence, that will help us much
Good trade. I think RA is more likely to clean up **** than sit one of his stars when they are playing like it!
i knew the rockets were an athletic team, but i just realized that they are the most unathletic team in the NBA.
We would be the best defensive team in the league big and beefy front line with 3- 1st team defenders. I would do this trade even without Augustine. I know how Larry Brown is he enjoys big beefy front lines while Jordan likes athletic good perimeter wings. If they could land Chris Wilcox and players who fit Larry Brown's description they would probably do the deal.
I say we use the LBJ situation and rape NJ Tmac for Carter + Swift Then we have Swift's and head's expirings, we can also shop rafer around. Or we can pray Tmac magically heals all wounds and promises to never get injured again.
