    alston and hayes

    for

    Dooling and williams.

Rox save money and get a pg that will attack the vasket and backup brooks. Williams is the atheletic big who can backup yao and play the 4 in certain matchups. Rafer backs up harris and go home, chuck is something I guess off the bench I guess.

Shane+Steve Francis for Marcus Williams and Corey Magette

GSW wants to cut M.Williams and they also didnt fitm wit Corey. Magette will be very usefull for us, and I really really believe the potential of Marcus Williams. Brooks&M.Williams could be a very big duo in the future.

I think Donnie could use Battier. He can slow down the other teams wings, and can shoot in Donnie's system. I love Shane's contribution to this team, but getting Corey Magette would help more than Battier since Artest arrives Houston.

Then trade Luther+ 2nd round pick and even some cash is NJN wants for Sean Williams or Josh Boone. They wanna give time to Brook Lopez, and especiallly Sean Williams is now off in NJN's radar.

    Rafer/Brooks/M.Williams
    Tracy/Barry/Magette
    Artest/Magette
    Scola/Landry/Hayes
    Yao/S.Williams or Boone

    That is good.

I am opposed to pretty much any trade that sees Battier leave town. I don't think that Magette would be a better fit on this team at all. As we saw last night, Artest can be a beast off of the bench, and Shane is the better fit in the starting lineup.

Battier (who isn't completely healthy yet...which is kind of par for the course on this squad) gives us quite a bit more flexibility in the lineup than Magette could offer. Plus, he coaches the young guys on the floor, he is a calming locker room presence by all accounts, and he is - even with the addition of Ron Ron - our primary defensive stopper against the other team's star players.

Oooookay....so who plays PG for Houston? Luther Head? Steve Francis?

Jackson is a 6-8 combo Guard/Forward, right? What would he offer to the team that we aren't getting from Artest, Battier, McGrady, Scola or Landry? This trade would kill us at the PG spot and cause an unnecessary glut at the swing positions.

Baron Davis and cash to Houston for Ron Artest and Rafer Alston

If we will get B-Diddy, Shane Battier I don't think would be enough for the Clippers.

OK. We'll stick with getting Bellenelli or Anthony randolph or somebody like that.
How about a future 1st round pick? It could be possible to get such a luxury.

no, not really serious. we were talking about how T-Mac is likely not gonna be traded by Morey (yet still no longer 'untouchable') in the other thread , and so i made up a couple fake trades on the spot over there, and decided to post this one here just for sh1ts and g1ggles.

believe me, i know neither Morey nor 28 other NBA GMs are stupid enough to trade for Z-Bo's killer contract and baggage. i was just trying to make a point that, at some point, enough add-ons can be added to make you pause. thornton is a beast, and gordon is gonna be a hoss within 1.5 years.

Rockets go all in and trade Landry, Francis, Head, and Wafer to the Clippers for Marcus Camby.

Can you imagine our defense with Artest and Battier outside and Yao and Camby protecting the paint?

Von Wafer for Nathan Jawai? Salaries don't match but both can be moved via the minimum salary exception.

The Rockets have 29 games before the trade deadline.

Barring an injury forcing a trade, it seems obvious that it is going to be wait and see as players get healthy and RA tries to establish his rotation...

The most likely candidates for "non-forced" trades are Head, Francis and Wafer depending on how the team gels and plays -- and Barry depending on whether or not he can find his shot.

If Deke isn't signed, I think the need for a legitimate "big" backup for Yao could also be looming by the trade deadline.

Twenty-nine games is quite a long time and it's hard to predict what teams will be willing to do this far ahead.

    my guess is that:

Head, SF, Hayes, and Von would be on the tradable assets.
They would certainly move head in ahead of Von. Hayes if we can get a decent backup C. SF if team is looking for expiring contract.

    Sign Richard Hendrix
    Sign Deke

    Alston/Brooks/Francis
    McGrady/Barry/Head
    Battier/Artest/Wafer
    Scola/Landry/Hendrix

    Shouldn't this thread be stickied?

Anyway, if you believe unreliable internet rumors, then GSW is interested in Felton. So we try this:

Head + Francis --> Charlotte, Head can hit the 3 for them and SF is cap relief
Wright + Williams --> Houston (Wright is a good up-and-comer who doesn't get much playing time, plus we shave some money off our cap)
    Felton --> GSW

    Not likely, but works money-wise.

Sign Deke? You are engenius! I love that idea! We can't let the celtics take Deke! He has done so much for us when Yao was gone. As long as you have that in there, I think it's cool. :D
