Alright. What do you want? A big four! I think we are talking now. To get a big four, the others wil have to go a little bit stupid. Like: Battier, Brooks, 2009 2nd Round Pick(from LAC), 2009 2nd round Pick(from MEM), cash from HOU, to the Sixers for A.Miller. Stupid trade for the Sixers. We won't get a big four. Let's make this our topic. I will be thrilled if there is a great idea that would work for both teams that'd give us a big four.
Rockets trade Brooks for Mario Chalmers Mario Chalmers was one of the best defenders in college basketball. On 2009 Draft Night, we have to get Jerel McNeal. He's now projected #19 in the draft night. But we really need to get him. He is also one of the best defenders in college basketball. In any way, we should get him. I want Chalmers and Jerel McNeal!
That would give us a big four. morey wouldn't fo that though. I would but not definetly. Not Morey. Pistons would. I probably would. That is because i'm crazy.
I like Tmac and have always supported him. However if a trade is to happen involving Tmac and Sheed I think it would be better off without involving the Clips. Tmac, Hayes and Brooks for Sheed, Rip, and Stuckey. Financially it works. It also leaves both teams major cap flexibility for 2010 so that wont deter either side. Yao plays about 33 min at Center. Sheed, Scola, and Landry split the 63 min remaining at PF and backup C. Sheed gives us length at the 4 and the first PF to play with Yao who is capable of stepping out to the three point line. Battier, Artest and Rip split the mins at SF and SG and Stuckey gives us a better backup PG then Brooks. Biggest drawback is that would leave Sheed and Artest able to walk after this year but that could be a bonus as well considering both have been known to be knuckleheads. Pistons have Tmac and AI in the backcourt both able to play pseudo PG and score big points. Brooks plays behind AI and takes Stuckey's min. They have Prince at SF, Maxiell at PF and get Hayes as a post defender which they apparently were interested in. All in all, I think both sides at least think about it. Pistons would probably want Scola or Landry instead of Hayes. Not sure how I feel about it, but at least both teams make a big splash and keep the potential "signing James, Wade, Bosh" dream alive.
Your asking too much now asking for Stuckey in the deal, think for real man. If were getting Sheed as well I think we can provide either of the Scolandry's preferably Landry.
Alston + Battier + Hayes for Steve Nash The Suns get better on defense and we get huge upgrade on pg. Phoenix Suns Incoming Players Chuck Hayes Salary: $1,768,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 1.3 REB: 3.9 AST: 0.7 PER: 6.04 Shane Battier Salary: $6,448,900 Years Remaining: 3 PTS: 8.3 REB: 4.3 AST: 2.0 PER: 11.28 Rafer Alston Salary: $4,900,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 11.7 REB: 3.3 AST: 5.2 PER: 13.87 Outgoing Players: Steve Nash Houston Rockets Incoming Players Steve Nash Salary: $12,250,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 15.2 REB: 3.0 AST: 8.4 PER: 18.66 Outgoing Players: Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier, Rafer Alston
Camby and R.Davis for Scola, Head, francis, and barry. If the owner is making so much money from his china connection, why worry about a 1m in lux tax? Jerry Buss isn't worried about it.
This is not a bad trade. This is kinda like highway robbery. We get Steve Nash with Rafer Battier and Hayes wow. The only problem with this is Steve likes to run. Even though RA wants to run a more up tempo offense we aren't really doing it. Even though its a good trade this team well these players would not fit with what Nash is use to playing with
I'm watchin wolves vs lakers game, and anyone who said mike miller and al jefferson to the rockets is badly mistaken. I wouldn't even give battier for them.
Teams rely on revenue from ticket sales for profits. Those numbers are down league-wide this season. Just being over LT by $1 could cost the Rockets around $8-12M. Even if they're losing do teams like the Lakers and especially the Knicks need promotions like these ever? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=158865
Dec.15 is the first day that many players signed in the summer can be traded. So, it's likely that some teams may make trades this week (if they're not waiting till near the trade deadline). On that note... How about Luther Head for Thabo Sefolosha? We probably want to get rid of Head and Sefo gets little playing time in Chi. Young players I'd like to get: Nick Young, Brandan Wright, Sean Williams, Josh Boone.
The nba has revenue sharing. Tickets sales aren't the big money to teams, its concessions, parking, luxury boxes and local cable and tv deals. That's why La,Ny,Bos, and those types are high revenue teams. The money from anything outside 75 mile radius and international money goes into the league kitty and is equally distributed. The big money teams get a lot a money from the local tv and cable deals as well as luxury boxes. A team like chicago has like 400 suites at 250k per. That's straight money to the owner.
You are also missing out on the monies that team's over the LUX Tax pay into a kitty...that is then distributed to teams that are UNDER the LUX tax....so it could cost them a lot. DD
I hadn't heard that. Do you know the particulars? I can't imagine that a team $1 under the luxury tax would reap huge benefits. I bet there are all kinds of revenue qualifiers and such. If it is true that $1 over could cost millions then I will stop being so free with Les' money.
