Who says we don't trade him to a team that's looking to gather expiring contracts for this coming off-season? Many teams are targeting the '10 off-season but not all of them can and I'm sure they realize that. I think for a team who wants quick cap relief, a package of Francis + Head for a decent 4 to 5 million dollar player with a 2 year contract is feasible.
I dont think we will every see Steve back on the court in a Rockets jersey. Might as well try to trade him, see if we can get anythign for him.
Dorsey for Bobby Brown Salaries don't match but Kings have a $912k TE that can absorb Dorsey's contract while Brown is on the rookie min so he can be traded via the minimum exception. Even though Brown is a NBA rookie he has pro experience playing in Germany. The guy hasn't been missing a beat since SL. Brown & Brooks off the bench can definately take even more minutes off Alston.
who cares who they are I dont trust a rookie running the team better then Rafer or being more productive then AB as it is. the pg isnt are big point right now, its back up center. its yaos minutes
Morey said if someone got injured then he'll look for backups for eg. Mutumbo for Yao. I think thats nuts, look for one now, last minute choices aren't good. How about a dorsey + luther + barry for a decent center?
while trades sound good game wise you need to remember its a business as well. they're trying to have room for FA coming up next year and the year after (especially) and to resign players.
i understand Noah's potential, his position, and what he brings to the table as well as head, but no way would they give away noah or head. we may be able to get head for TE, for a team who needs a shooter. bobcats?
This is not really a trade proposal, but...if Marko Jaric were to be bought out by Memphis - would you consider signing him? I would.
It should be a great trade proposal if Rudy's salary is also 16m/yr. I can't find anther griz who has a contract that can match yao's. Say, if we wanna give up yao and get Gay, we have to aquire some other guys besides Gay. Yao for Walker and jaric and Gay should be more feasible. But will they trade their future franchise roster for a frigile yao? Will les trade the source of his wealth for Gay and two gabages? Neither team wanna excute such a trade.
Hold on Clutch Fans, Help is coming!!!! This is an article that was on hoopsworld . I think this makes alot of sense! Especially Amare and Joe Johson. The Real Players In 2010 The summer of 2010 is certainly going to be the subject of discussion on every chat, forum, and blog regarding the NBA. A plethora of All-Star players including LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Amar'e Stoudemire will be hitting free agency, and the League's Collective Barging Agreement expires the following summer. (The league has the option to extend CBA through the 2011-12 season. The NBA must exercise its option to extend the deal by December 15, 2010.) Most of the talk to this point has been about LeBron, and mostly about the possibility of him ending up with the New York Knicks. There is, however, another team that's going to have enormous cap space which isn't getting much attention. What if LeBron James decided he wanted to play alongside Yao Ming? Looking at the Rockets' payroll as it stands today, the only player getting guaranteed money after the summer of 2010 is Shane Battier. Yao Ming is non-guaranteed, Carl Landry, Chuck Hayes, and Aaron Brooks have team options. Joey Dorsey is non-guaranteed. That's it. What if the Rockets decided to replace Tracy McGrady with LeBron James? Amar'e Stoudemire? How about Stoudemire AND Joe Johnson? The possibilities are endless. One thing's for sure: the Rockets are going to need to prove to Yao Ming that they're serious about winning. If the team can't get past the first round of the playoffs this season and they lose Ron Artest to free agency, they're long-term prognosis is questionable. Their front office has shown a commitment to winning and an ability to make unlikely improvements to the roster. It's not a stretch to say the Rockets, and not the Knicks, are the big players in 2010. It's also not a stretch to say the Knicks, luxury tax payers over the past few seasons, decide to cut expenses, sign 4-5 middle-tier players, and actually try to make a profit for a few years.
How about something simple like Luther Head for Etan Thomas. Head's not getting much time with Brooks serving as the primary PG backup and Thomas is stuck behind Blatche and their nice looking rookie at C. Also, Thomas is a serviceable big who could run with the second unit. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this.
i'm ok with Thomas but what's the status of his contract? or any of those OKC bigs..Petro,Collison,Wilcox
