Tmac + Alston + Brooks = 27,000,000 Lafrentz + Blake + Outlaw + Bayless + Fernandez= 24,000,000 Not that equal.
hate to bust your bubble, but there's no way portland's gonna do this trade. the team is currently on a youth movement. all their integral pieces are young: oden, aldridge, roy. bayless and fernandez are rookies with tremendous upside. they will be set for years to come. they can even win the title with that lineup, so why risk your chances of winning titles in the future? they can only get better as the games pass. i doubt they'd trade outlaw and blake too especially with the way theyre playing. i dont think theyd trade for vets with big contracts either.
Tmac for hinrich and hughes hughes is good given minutes, and we get hinrich in 3 months but with battier back in the mix it could work cuz ron can hold the 2 position.
it frees up 12 mill next yr with hughes contract and get a good pg. duno but thought about. I dont want to trade tmac but if injuries stop him from totally being effective i think morey would do it. cuz we need to win now.
Anyone be interested in getting Al Harrington? Him and his team arnt happy right now, and while we need another PF like a hole in the head, he's still a good player.
I gazed in my crystal and I saw that Aaron Brooks is gonna be really good. He will get a better paycheck than $1000000. Also I see Tmac will eventually be not the best guy on the Rockets. The stars will get old. In other words, we should get some rookies and when you see our great guys get old, trade him for a star that is fresh.
do u guys think we can trade head for DeSagana Diop. We really need a big body, and that kid is a 7 footer who can block and defense.
mavs wouldnt do that they see a lot of potential in diop, they even signed him to a 5 year deal. especially not for head
What about this trade. I know its very unlikely given the Lux Tax stinginess of Les but I think it could be made: Shane Battier Luther Head Steve Francis for Antawn Jamison Wizards are off to a horrible start, somewhere along the lines of Thunder. Thus they would want to make changes. I think Jamison has a bad contract that doesn't quite go in line with the age group of the current Wizards core, and Wizards wouldn't mind off loading his bad contract in return for a proven vet and expirings. Jamison will be perfect next to Yao with his range game and can bang it up inside when needed. Poor man's Rasheed Wallace. And who was raving about having Sheed next to Yao??? This is assuming we are willing to go over the lux tax, which I think no genuine contender should be too fussed about as there is an old saying: "you get out what you put in". Lakers and Celtics don't win banners with sub-tax-level payrolls.
We're already stacked at PF with Scola, Landry, Hayes and even Dorsey. What the heck would you do with another one? You're proposing to strengthen our deepest position, at the expense of our best non-star player. I'd rather find a way to get Nick Young off their hands
Jamison is not a poor man's Rasheed Wallace. Jamison is an all-star. What would you feel if the Wizards offered Haywood plus Stevenson for Yao? Jamison is untouchable unless they get a bundle of high draft picks, which we do not have. People, please get rational here.
After listening to Morey today, I seriously doubt we'll be trading any of the big 3, Battier or Rafer. Morey was saying they'd rather have a player who could only play 70% of the time, but be ready for the playoffs, than get a player who had 70% of the ability and play all the time. I think it's clear they'll try to play this hand out until the playoffs. Battier is what has been missing on our defense. I just can't imagine us giving him up, for what we'd get. Morey keeps repeating that he doesn't see any bigs that are better than the ones we've got, even if they are taller. He keeps pointing out that Rafer runs our team very well, so I doubt we'd trade him, unless we got someone significantly better, since he doesn't see Brooks replacing him, but having greater value as an energy boost off the bench. But, I think Head's days are numbered, even if its just for a draft choice, so we can make room to bring on Deke. I don't really see any major changes until next off-season, except for making room for Deke. The guys who are available really won't make our team significantly better. I think they plan on being patient through the injuries, play the big 3 less minutes on the court and in practice, and be sure everyone is there for the playoffs. By mid-season, I'm sure we'll gel like last year. But, this time, we have depth to go farther.
Battier sounds like he's damaged good with that quote he gave about hurting all year long. It'd be interesting to know if the current main scouts were the ones pushing to trade Battier especially now given his condition. On the issue of bigs I think Morey's been referring to free agents and freeing up money via trade to sign Deke. I don't think he's alluded to or shot down the idea of acquiring another C directly via trade.
The team is stack, but rox are still having problems inside the paint. Going back to the trade, what about battier, head and SF3 for okafor? A much better defender in the paint.
i like okafor but i dont want to let go of battier. plus, bobcats wont let go of okafor. that's the reason they want landry, so they could play together since sean may has been a bust so far. what we need is an athletic PF/C that's 7". Doesnt need to shoot from the outside but can bang inside, rebound and block. Tyson Chandler would be perfect but that's just dreaming.
Major trade is needed because there is a good chance of having less wins than last season. No success in regular season == early exit in playoff.
