nothing. But he’s making $28 million on an expiring deal playing for a team that won’t make the playoffs...prime guy to get a buyout. That, plus being Hardens friend and Silas being more ok with the midrange means he’s probably a good fit.

Trade deadline deal minimum then, no way he is stretched and waived.

DeRozan is still a dang good player with positive value.

Although your scenario would be amazing.

    Yuck-ish!

Hield is not really very good... nice scorer, great shooter, negative defender and undersized and weak. The epitome of non-valuable NBA players

Bagley. Meh. Dunno - but the 3 frp unprotected might make it worthwhile taking on Hield and him? Worth a roll of the dice!

Maxey and Thybulle also worth a look.

All in all, a rebuild trade around picks - could be worse, I think we need a 3rd team with assets to give us in exchange for Simmons, so, Not bad!!

Should be high on Rockets wishlist to pair him with Harden-Wood.

But AG is still the better fit and has the better contract.

Signing John Collins to max contract would be a disaster.

I'm not a big fan of Collins in particular, certainly not for a max. But an upside to the Heat trade would be you can go out and offer a near max in free agency in 2021 with the space cleared.

So there are a couple of things to take from this.

First, the potential that a combination of teams could get us what we want.

Second, that Simmons himself may not be a target for us, but may be used to get us someone on “the list”.

Hou In: MPJ, Aaron Nesmith, RJ Hampton, Smart, 4 FRPs
    Hou Out: Harden

Den In: Jaylen Brown, Langford (into TPE)
Den Out: MPJ, RJ Hampton, Barton, 1 FRP

    Bos In: Harden, Barton
Bos Out: Brown, Nesmith, Smart, Langford, 3 FRPs

Houston gets 3 prospects, a player they can probably trade for a pick in smart, and 4 FRPs.

Den gets to form a young big 3 with Murray, Brown and Jokic.

Boston gets Harden and wing depth with Barton, so they pay a massive price.

    Wall
    Gordon
    House
    MPJ
    Wood

The fascination with MPJ is mind boggling to me.

He should not be the centerpiece for a Harden trade, this is a one dimensional player coming off major injury.

    He is the sweetener. Period.

This is a “centerpiece-less” deal. Basically 7 FRPs for Harden. 7 lottery tickets.

    I don’t trust Simmons.

I trust Simmons more than MPJ.

7 FRP is unrealistic but really means very little when we are dealing with an unproven FO.

FRP will be sweetener, the players Rockets receive in return are the rebuild center pieces.

Still cannot wrap my mind around MPJ as the centerpiece. MPJ is the 3rd best player on the Nuggets at best.

    Not NBA, like Harden.

The Nuggets. And last season, MPJ was the 4th best player.

    Behind Joker, Murray, Jerami.

If MPJ was healthy, I would pick him every time over Simmons.

If healthy is an extremely big "if".

And even healthy, MPJ has accomplished much less than Simmons.

    Super small sample size.

    For James Harden?

    No way.

I agree, I was saying the same thing. I would like MPJ, but he is not the centerpiece for any trade for Harden.

MPJ is the guy, he’s the only one with real potential to be a franchise player out of all the names
    Thrown around.

If we can get MPJ, multiple picks, and prospects, you got a good package for Harden.

Same type of athlete and one can shoot lights out. If healthy, I’m taking MPJ all day.
But like you said, it’s a big IF
