For me it's got to be the following for the BKN. Lavert, Dimwiddie, Joe Harris, Landry Shamet (why isn't he mentioned?, that's a good contract/asset) For Harden and Gordon. 3picka, 3 pick swaps. Everyone is saying Nets isn't going to have enough, I disagree, that's a good package to clean books and get assets for the future. Trade Tucker to Golden state for an extra pick. Dimwiddie player option next year but at $11M is a good enough asset. Trade it to a team on the bubble (sun's).and get more frp
Joe Harris cannot be included in any trades for about 3 months. I believe that rule applies to players being re-signed.
Can't put a contender around James unless we go all in. If the Rockets and get a sharpshooting 3, then I think we can be in the conversation. Also, if this team starts winning Wall's value can only go up. Boogie could be traded a the deadline to a contender and Wood could maybe fetch some picks as well. Also why wait til your best player is gone to roll the dice?
Hou In: Simmons, Thybulle, Maxey, 2023 1st, 2027 1st, 2024 swap, 2026 swap Philly In: Harden, Tucker then at the deadline Houston In: Beal Wash In: - Eric Gordon - Maxey - Portland 2021 1st - Detroit 2021 1st - Washington’s own 2023 1st - 76ers 2023 1st Wall Beal Thybulle / House Simmons Wood / Cousins
Because Harden is not just the best player but hes also the best asset. Further, we are NOT going to get equal value for James Harden, there is no top 3 player coming back in ANY trade. Building around and maximizing team around Harden is Rockets best chance for a ring. There is no guarantee that this FO has a clue when it comes to drafting. So FRP are great but not the primary goal for me.
Beal is WAS franchise player. He was reason that Wall, former WAS franchise player, was jettisoned. I doubt they make that trade UNLESS Wiz go on historic losing streak before the trade deadline.
im in the “it’s not going to work” camp on Westbrook, but am open to being surprised. But for the most part I agree. I think Beal will get traded not at this deadline, but at the following years deadline, which is fine if I’m Houston.
Harden for Bagley+Hield+Halliburton +2021 and 23 frp unprotected. Wood/Bagley Cousins/Tucker Hield/House Gordon Wall/Halliburton
If I'm sending James anywhere, I'm sending him to the Thunder, if possible. I want all of our picks back along with a few more and some garbage contracts. I think if you can't compete for first, then compete for worst. Being worst creates buzz all being able to imagine the Zion's and Luka's coming to your team. I think OKC has an exciting future now.
Which teams are looking to either A. Salary dump Or B. Add pieces While none of Dinwiddie/ LeVert/ Prince/ BKN 1sts are exciting enough to even think of trading Harden, it may be that a 3rd team is interested in one or more of these pieces to improve, and willing to sacrifice a younger talent for success now, or use pick/s to shed salary. I am starting to come around on the idea of LeVert sticking on the Rockets, and using the other 2 to bring in someone else who has the potential to be a franchise player OR pick/s that have relevance. E.g.. Charlotte seem to be trying to make the playoffs this season with the signing of Hayward. Adding Dinwiddie and Prince gives them proven depth at a reasonable cost. We could take Roziers bloated deal off their books at the cost of a pick and a talent (either Washington or Bridges). Force BKN to take Gordon along with Harden and send us multiple first and multiple swaps. Haul of LeVert Shamet Bridges or Washington Rozier CHA 1st BKN 3 1sts BKN 3 swaps It is a long way from wonderful. There is no proven franchise cornerstone in there. But there are 4 firsts, the ditching of Egos horrid deal, and 2 improving talents in LeVert and one of the young Charlotte guys. Rozier is a competitor and will push the younger guys to develop. Shamet valuable on that contract. Either one could potentially be flipped for more assets. It's the slower road towards a rebuild, but I don't see a franchise changer available at the moment...
