I hate these losses as much as anyone but Even more so cause I know What a dumpster fire CF is gonna be
Pelicans blogger floating the idea of Mirotic for Knight and a 1st. Have to say I think that would be a great move for us, getting size and shooting at PF while also getting off Knight's deal. I'd be surprised if the asking price isn't higher in reality though. https://www.thebirdwrites.com/platf...ns-anthony-davis-jrue-holiday-houston-rockets

For the next few days, the players currently making big money on their roster aren’t desirable. Picks are wanted. More likely Chriss/1 First for a good rookie contract.
Just tried this one out on the old trade machine : Memphis out: J Green, Temple Memphis in: BK, 2021 first Brooklyn out : Joe Harris Brooklyn in : Temple, 2022 second Hawks out: Dedmond Hawks in: Chriss, Nene, 2021 second Rockets in: Dedmon, J Green, Joe Harris Rockets out: BK, Chriss, Nene 2021 1st, 2021, 2022 second. Memphis gets a first for taking on BK’s contract obviously. 2021 first to unload BK and upgrade the rotation is worth it to me. From what I have read Brooklyn only expects a second for Harris. Temple’s contract would expire a year earlier and is more desirable. Atlanta won’t get more than a second for Dedmon. Might as well be our 2021 second. Rockets get what they need short of getting a superstar. Harris shoots over 45% from 3. Everyone wants an elite shooter and Joe is the best pure shooter rumored to be available. Dedmond solves the size and defensive problems behind Clint. Because he can stretch the floor, you can play him with Faried in the second unit together. He’s a no brainer. J Green does the dirty work, provides size and length at either forward spot, and also upgrades our defense, rebounding, and toughness. I believe this trade at least addresses each of our needs for the remainder of the season and gives D’Antoni flexibility with his lineup combinations. Defense, rebounding, size and a lethal sharp shooter. 6’6, 6’9, 7’0 CP/Rivers Harden/Harris Tucker/EG J Green/Manimal Clint/Dedmon Is that lineup plus ridding the team of BK’s contract and Chriss worth a first and 2 seconds? Our depth would be ridiculous.
I’m with you. Feels too good to be true. Don’t get me wrong, I would certainly do that deal from our end. I don’t think there’s a chance Brooklyn does that deal, though. Harris is the best player in the deal and one of the best value contracts in the league.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7ojyfcj 4 team trade Houston in: Mirotic, Ellington NOLA in: Whiteside, Knight, DSJ, Chriss (buyout) 1st from Houston, 1st from Dallas 2019 and 1st from Dallas 2021 Dallas in: Jrue Holiday Miami Heat: Harrison Barnes
I have wrote a lot of silliness over the years so this trade deadline. I think I’ll let DM do his thing. When healthy we are so close, iMO. In DM I trust
Cancelling this trade idea. I'd much rather get DeAndre Jordan for basically nothing and use Knight/Chriss to get an upgrade at PF or SF.
2 trades. Trade 1 Houston out: Capela/Ennis/Hartenstein x Kings out: Bjelica/ Frank Mason http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycd9bfx5 Immediately cut Mason Trade 2 Houston out: Brandon Knight + picks x Pacers out: Bojan Bogdanovic (expiring contract) http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8rnckbs Pacers need to consider “fall off the cliff” since Oladipo injury.....currently 4th seed in East and 5&5 in last 10 games. 11 games ahead in the loss column from being 9th and out of the playoffs. 0-3 since Dipo injury, so being out of the playoffs could be in about 11 games at this pace. Bjelica: 10 pts......5.9 rebs........43% (3P%).......$6.5M (easy contract to trade in future) Bojan Bogdanovic: 16 pts.....43% (3P%)......$10.5M expiring contract (rental) Roster to be: 1) CP3 ...................................2) EGordon/ 3) A Rivers 4) Harden...............................5) GGreen 6) Bojan Bogdanovic..............7) either re-sign House or add Wes Matthews buy-out (13 pts, 38% (3P%)) 8) Tucker.................................9) Bjelica/ 10) G Clark 11) D Jordan...........................12) Faried/ 13) Nene Edited: trade M. Chriss for a ham sandwich (Cash/Foreign Player rights) or buy out.
My first instinct is to say hell no …. But then I start thinking how much trouble Utah (and a few other teams) has in getting "Stars" to come to or stay with their team. Offering CP3 on a 2-3 year deal to a team that cant get stars to come play for them … is probably the only way you unload him without paying a kings ransom in return. Utah , New Orleans maybe Charlotte ? San Antonio if Pop calls it quits and OKC if WestBrick finally moves on are going to have trouble getting big names … one of those teams might take CP3 to help fill seats for a year or two. I'm not really supporting the idea of moving CP3 now … just that if the time does come , and it may have come already IDK ? , that's probably the angle you have to take.
Faried is quick and strong, but defense is his weakest point. He is more likely to foul out with silly mistakes. He should stick to rebounding and finishing at the basket/ give energy.
CP3 will not go anywhere in the next few years. 100% No one is trading for him. His contract is enormous, in a trade a team would have to match salary and no team is willing to slide him in with his huge uncertainty regarding his health and age. We aren’t trading him because we are hoping he stays healthy in the playoffs and have no interest in exchanging him for other bad contracts of lesser players. He will not equal or be a part of a trade for a top player. Sorry
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine If we serious about bringing on DJ Jordan. Tobias isn't bad with averages percentage of .50 .40 and .87 from ft line. I know this is definitely a long shot. But a line up of Paul, Harden, Tucker/Tobias, DJ GOrdon, Bradley, House or Green, Faried Boban is pretty solid. Give the Clips a 1st rounder this might be plausible. Think this team would matchup just as good with GS this year as last year. Will help the defense also.
Capela/Knight/Gordon(goes to third team for asset?)/Chriss/Nene For Marc Gasol(opts in)/Mike Conley/Green Sign DJ.
