https://dailyknicks.com/2019/01/13/new-york-knicks-potential-trade-candidates-noah-vonleh/ A first and a second is too much for a guy that will only play half a season for us, but I do love the idea of getting him. He's kind of a perfect fit. His agent should be pushing for a trade to Houston since Harden will make him look amazing.
Maybe Lee and Vonleh for Ennis. Knight, and a 1st and 2nd. That might be enough to move Knight, get some good versatile players in return, and save some luxury tax money. The Knicks are actively trying to move Lee. Is that too much to offer in terms of picks or does that seem fair?
I think they are trying to move Lee so they can open up cap for FA, so while fair value I don't think it's the direction the Knicks will go.
Knight Chriss Melo and a 1st for Marc Gasol Sure he's no longer elite but he's still damn good, especially if/when Clint comes back and he comes off the bench. If he opts out of his last year we shed ~ $24 million. Bring him back on a more team friendly contract if he's still productive and move Nene to another team.
1) Knight + 3 first round picks + filler for Robert Covington and filler (Maybe without Tibodo they will agree to take draft picks) http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y852yukv 2) Knight + Nene + Chriss + 2 first round picks for Otto Porter http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9rth6cn 3) Chriss + Carmelo + 3 second round picks or maybe 1 first round pick for Mbah a Moute + Thornwell http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8gybmjk 4) Knight + Nene + Chriss + 2 or 3 first round picks for Bazemore + Dedmon http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yc4c6y5p 5) Just sign Willie Reed
I applaud you for being a serious Luc fan but I would personally seek out Morey and kick him in the balls if he trades anything of value to bring back Mbah Moute.
Interesting idea. That said, does Gasol really accept a bench role whenever we’re at full strength? Also, I just said whenever we’re at full strength. Pause for laughter.
I had to google this to check if it's true, and indeed Willie Reed is a free agent playing in the g league. He was a stud with the Heat. Great pick up as a 2-way till Capela comes back or even at the vet min for the rest of the season.
I'm 99% confident that he said he would accept a bench role if it was for the betterment for his team sometime in the past two seasons. And that was for a piss poor Grizzlies team. Also putting only 20-24 minutes on his body can only extend his career moreso if he chooses.
Hmmmm Gasol is making $26M this year. In order to get even close we would have to give up EG and Brandon Knight at the minimum unless we can come up with a 3 team deal that is.
OK, maybe this compensation is too big for him with his current injury, but I think he will be OK soon. Why should Clippers help Rockets? When Luc was healthy he was more important for Houston than Ariza last year. His defense is stellar. I have never seen a better wing defender than Mbah a Moute. Maybe Roberson, Igouadala are on the same level, but they can't defend PF and even C like Luc. Yes, his offense is bad, but his NetRtg always was pretty good thanks his unreal defense. His shoulder injury was one of the reasons why Rockets lost to GSW last year. P.S. Sorry for my bad English ).
Luc hasn't been healthy all year. He's not the same player he was last year. Hate to break it to you but he will not be "OK soon".
Seriously. It is absolutely baffling how people still talk about this guy as if he was the key to our success. He played well for us....in the regular season. And then he was god awful in the playoffs. Injured? Maybe. Is that in the past? Obviously not. He even said physically he was fine in the playoffs. His confidence wasn’t there. That’s the type of guy we want? Morey absolutely made the right call in not bringing him back and obviously that can’t be argued seeing he has only played 4 games this season. And it’s not like he hasn’t been in the league for that long. Drafted in 2008. Yet no one offered him more than the minimum when we signed him. Remember when Dmo was a stud for us before getting injured? Did he ever make it back to that level? Same situation? No, but Morey was right in not signing both, so kinda.
These guys became trade eligible today: Marcus Smart (Celtics) Joe Harris (Nets) Zach LaVine (Bulls) Rodney Hood (Cavaliers) Will Barton (Nuggets) Nikola Jokic (Nuggets) Clint Capela (Rockets) Chris Paul (Rockets) Avery Bradley (Clippers) Montrezl Harrell (Clippers) Paul George (Thunder) Jerami Grant (Thunder) Aaron Gordon (Magic) Jusuf Nurkic (Trail Blazers) Davis Bertans (Spurs) Bryn Forbes (Spurs) Fred VanVleet (Raptors) Dante Exum (Jazz) Derrick Favors (Jazz) Raul Neto (Jazz)
Thought about this; but Memphis won’t take on Knights contract. They won’t have both Parsons and Knight on their payroll. That’s $40 million and 2 roster spots. A 3 team trade would make more sense.
His confidence wasn't there because of injury. His jump shot was broken. Moreover, he even was afraid to dunk after these 2 shoulder injurys in a row. In other words, his offense was gone completly and this made him unplayable vs. GSW even with his great defense.
