if the nets said they would take on cp3's contract for D'angelo Russell, but the rockets had to include 2 firsts.. do you pull the trigger on that deal remember cp3 had a game earlier this year against the nets
fair enough no argument from me. There is still an argument to be made that he has never played for a modern system and/or a team with a culture that put him in a position to succeed. Some people succeed in spite of those things, others need encouragement. I could be talked into it. With the unfortunate Capela news, I might be a little more inclined to go big. Someone who can fill in credibly as small ball 5 and when Capela comes back be like the big version of Eric Gordon (i.e. gets 30+ minutes off the bench playing alongside one of the other guys that starts at a big position). But it's possible that is incredibly short term thinking.
Gordon, Chriss for Isaiah Thomas, Juan Hernangomez and Plumlee would rather do knight instead of gordon tho and just add a first or 2
I'm in favor of this. I don't know if Morey will go for a more talented but somewhat raw player or someone safe like Dekker in the draft.
Or Morey could swing for the fences and trade with Kings for Willie Cauley-stein. 1st, 2nd, VE and Chriss.
WCS For Chriss, Melo & (SRP or ???) Kings are not signing him but what can they get for him? Chriss & Melo would work cap wise. Maybe we put more salary like Knight clean cap & get help at same time. WCS For Knight and 2 FRP
If the Clippers weren’t in the playoff race I would definitely try to lure pieces from them for first rounders. They’ve got so many players that could help our depth big time. But they can’t trade with us when we’re right behind them in the standings.
Are we just going to ignore Clint Capela & Chris Paul are now TRADE ELIGIBLE?! Spoiler Yes? OK. The signing restrictions for Marcus Smart, Joe Harris, Zach LaVine, Rodney Hood, Nikola Jokic, Will Barton, Chris Paul, Clint Capela, Avery Bradley, Montrezl Harrell, Paul George, Jerami Grant, Aaron Gordon, Jusuf Nurkic, Davis Bertans, Bryn Forbes, Fred VanVleet, Derrick Favors, Raul Neto and Dante Exum will be lifted on Tuesday January 15. Hood and LaVine have veto power on any trade. The restriction was based on the 20 players signing with the early or bird exception and the first season of their new contract greater than 120% from the previous season.
