I think the original post reveals better than almost any other post what a disaster it's been so far. I think there was a movie where Kevin Durant comes to save a sorry kid's team. We are now at that level of wishing for fantasy to save us.
Sadly for the Rockets, the Magic are in the playoff hunt, but if not, a guy like Terrence Ross looks like he would be an excellent options as a starting SF for the Rockets.
Call up Miami, They have no use for James Johnson , he has playoffs exp/Def the rockets need, and Houston needs groom Winslow as the next new Small Forward. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ycltm5yy Probably take what 2nd rounder as well for them to bite? I mean Brandon Knight is exp, and could put up great numbers as backup off the bench squad, probably be very tempting for miami i say they would take heavy consideration on this trade.
If you had included Capela in that trade, Holic would have orgasmed. ??? We don't have Ariza anymore, so we can't trade him.
Eric Gordon and Clint Capela for Otto Porter and Markieff Morris. Paul, Knight Beard, Green/House Porter, Ennis/ Clark Morris, Thiccness Chriss, Nene, Hartenstein
I loved Otis Thorpe more than i like Clint Capela, but will Capela have to be our 94/95 Otis Thorpe to bring in another star to help the falling Rockets? He's our only significant trade piece and i honestly have always felt that the league as a whole has made traditional Centers pretty irrelevant. Centers who can do it all on offense as well as spread the floor and shoot 3's not included(Boogie/Gasol/Joker/Embiid/KAT/Kristaps/Vucevic). No one thought someone like Marc Gasol would go from 18% on 0.1 attempts in 8 seasons and then all of a sudden start nailing 3s at near 38 to 40% clip. Gasol always had a soft shooting touch. Clint will never adapt to shooting 3s. So i think our best hope to get better now is finding a good trade for Capela while we can. Of course we passed on Boogie because of "fit" while we could be waiting for his return and trade Capela for more depth. And of course the 94/95 comparison of hometown hero coming to save us like Clyde, would have been Jimmy. Shame we thought a 33 year old slow and undersized career journeyman PF and a streaky shooting 6th man who loves to dribble off his feet were untouchable for Jimmy. You **** the bed Morey.
There is a decent chance that BOTH Eric Gordon and Knight get moved today. If this happens it's a huge win for us even if you don't understand all the incoming parts. There is a very good chance that Knight gets moved for what most will perceive is another bad contract PLUS an additional expiring salary ($2-6 Mimi range) that increases our expiring salary figures on the cap. There is a decent chance that EGo gets moved today and we keep Knight for a few more days or weeks. There is a very good chance that Chriss is gone today. And there is a good chance Nene is gone today. If there is no trade completed today then Morey wasn't successful and our opportunities to win a championship this season have went from circling the drain to dropping to the bottom of the J-trap. Simply because it will be very difficult to make all the necessary moved we need to make at the deadline. I personally expect Knight to be moved today at the bare minimum. We need to reshuffle the deck in preparation for more moves at the deadline.
can't shoot. Our ideal trade target should be 6'8 or above. Can play the 3/4, be able to stretch the floor and be a volume 3pt shooter.
After reading the piece with Gordon on the Athletic today, I really think he's gone. Plus, we NEED to make moves. What do y'all think we could reasonably get for him?
I think it’s time we accept that no trade will save this season. And Morey is smart enough to realize that, which is why I don’t think we will make any big moves. He’ll try if a big name similar to Jimmy Butler comes up, but realistically we will lose out on those to better offers from other teams. Brandon Knight’s value will be worth a lot more next season simply because it’ll be an expiring contract, and if he gives us anything, even better. No way we surrender our pick this year right now seeing that it could end up being 10th overall or something. The only person of significance I could see being traded is EG because he could get you something, but Morey also knows that with no cap space you’re not going to get a better player than Gordon.
