If what you say is true (hell, I'll bite), I remember when Smart ticked all the analytics boxes in the draft and Morey wanted him. That has likely changed due to his new contract and inability to shoot from distance (although he can D and take it to the basket). God knows---well, we all know---we can't continue with just CP3 penciled in for the PG spot with no one to step in. When CP3 is out, our bad bench becomes abysmal.
No way they trade Rozier for a crappy player and a crappy pick. They can get much more than that out of a team like Phoenix.
You can do via 3rd team. Rozier does not have much value. Suns get MCW/pick Celtics get a young player from Suns Rockets get Rozier
I don't know how crappy that pick will actually be, to be honest, if the Rockets continue this way. But yes, they'd have to up the ante a bit for Rozier. I'm not saying, "Let's get Rozier!" I'm saying, "Let's get a really good point guard because 58 games per season of an expensive CP3 ain't gonna get it done, and if that happens to be Rozier, at least I'm seeing something get done!"
Would the Pelicans give up Randle or Mirotic? Would much rather Randle. Move Tucker to the 3, have Ennis fill the Mbah a Moute role off the bench. Highly doubt the Pheonix ashes and a pick do it for them now.. but closer to the trade deadline if they're not where they wanna be? My ideal semi reasonable (but still pretty much dreaming) trade would be. 1. Clint + Gordon + Chriss for Horford, Jaylen and Rosier 2. Knight + Hartenstein + 1st for Randle 3. Knight + Ennis for Taj + Tyuss
Why would the pelicans give up randle/Celtics give up terry for the deals you guys proposed. Be realistic!
Some names mentioned/speculated by Iko. Bulls: Justin Holiday Wizards: Morris, Green Nets: Joe Harris Kings: Shumpert Raptors: CJ Miles Rockets monitoring Cleveland Hawks: Dedmon Houston is primarily focused on acquiring wing talent, sources said. Their trade market intensity last week, in the midst of their winning streak, was described by one source as “not in emergency mode, but not sitting back either.”
Not 'sexy' names but realistic targets tbh. These other trade ideas incl the ones with Boston are not realistic at all.
You can make trades for "bench depth moves." You can try to make a trade for a "star." Ideally, Morey makes his "bench depth moves" but at the SAME TIME make sure those bench guys are ASSETS that could then be flipped again IF a star shakes loose. Try to have it both ways. We'll see.
These r the type of names this board should expect. With no good assets to move along you can’t get the goods back.
Dedmon might be the only realistic one available right now. I could see Shumpert being moved if the Kings start to stumble.
