How long will it take for this to be perceived as a supposed conspiracy or a government cover-up? @tinman Have any of your YouTubers made any connections yet?
The comments under the tweet are already filled with conspiracies, especially from people that don't understand that the pressure capsule imploded, not the outer hull.

This piece is pretty damn damning. Just bad decisions and uncritical thinking all around. https://www.newyorker.com/news/a-re...submersible-was-an-accident-waiting-to-happen
This thread deservedly got bumped by KC due to the horrific Maui fire. It made me recall something I saw as I happened to be scrolling through @Jeff's posts on twitter, X, whatever the damn thing is called today by it's foolish owner, and noticed that he'd retweeted what I'm posting below. August 4th was the 3 year anniversary of the stunning blast that wrecked the harbor of Beirut, killing and injuring a lot of people. Truly a disaster.
Just talked to one of the people I work with who lives inland in Maui. She's safe but: Everyone there is in a daze/in shock Everyone there is hosting people who lost their homes Bodies still in the water Many homes/condos haven't been searched Travel is limited, road is one-way and boat docks are busy Receiving docks have six people so supplies are slow (but there's no lack of supplies and they know there won't be a shortage) School just started which is a blessing since it gives the kids some structure There are four big storms headed their way which they are all nervous about
This was not a random disaster. It was a failure of infrastructure that was not equipped for a changing climate and compounded by the tyranny of distance and island isolation--not exactly easy to roll engines and crews to Maui on a moment's notice.
