Ramona Shelburne: Rockets/Knicks working on deal for Melo

I don't want Melo if the Rockets have to trade for him. I would have him force a buyout by having him exercise his no trade to block any move forcing the Knicks to just keep him around or release him outright. I'd bet they release him eventually.

There is no way he comes here and doesn't play the 4, his only value is at PF

 

I firmly believe that if we land Melo and he ends up playing with CP3 & Harden (doubt we get PG13 if Melo is here, simply not enough assets) we get Olympics Melo rather than NYK Melo.

He knows very well how to play with other superstars and has shown it. The problem is how many superstars has he played with EVER, minus the All-Star games and olympics.

Bottom line, dude can play and all that D'Antoni garbage will be squashed real quick once we have a Big 3 that will defer to each other.

Just keep those three away from Drake and Vlive. Deal?

Frankly, in 2018, I don't think that would be even the 3rd best team in the league. I've added the ages of those players in 2018 to the post for illustration.

We need to keep an eye on what we are doing to the athleticism and transition ability of this team. The ability to punish in transition seems vital to me. The Warriors would not struggle to beat that team imo. Unless Melo comes off the bench and we have someone young/athletic at the 4? Or we move Lebron to the 4 and have Troy Williams as the 3?

D-Wade I don't expect to be an NBA player by next season. He's done imo, even as a 6th man unless he suddenly becomes capable of hitting the 3 ball.

 

Where is the OP to elaborate on what Ramona said?? Ramona didn't say anything other than the Rockets and Knicks are working on a deal? Did she say "I could see the Rockets and Knicks doing a deal" or "I think the Rockets and Knicks might do a deal" or did she report it as fact?

 

Taking on the 54 mil would cripple us. We NEED a buyout on Melo.
