    Houston is not done star-chasing, either.
    Carmelo Anthony is a different matter. If the Knicks buy him out -- and they shouldn't, but we are talking about the Kazoos -- he could soak up a lot of power forward minutes in working as Team USA Melo, spotting up around stud ball-handlers. He would also be an interesting, borderline switch-proof pick-and-roll partner for both Harden and Paul, but we are getting ahead of ourselves.

    Can Melo play the 4? I thought he wasn't down for that. Melo replacing Ryan Anderson would be a clear upgrade.

    Melo would get so many catch and shoot threes on this team he would be balling. I don't understand all the hate.

    If there is a trade, it better not include Capela. Sorry, this isn't Melo the star and frankly I'm not sure I like the idea of bringing in two guys on the downside of their careers to take on Golden State.

    managing to get rid of Anderson to NY for Melo is the best possible way.
    The Kings have woken up and aren't stupid anymore.

    Well in regards to the pursuit of Lebron, that makes Anthony worth it on its own. Houston has to make this a 3 to 4 team deal to have other teams give salary to NY, so that Houston only has to give up Anderson for Anthony. The appealing thing about the buyout was that we likely would have kept Gordon. That said, you upgrade Anderson for Anthony before dropping the phone when to offer is discussed. With Melo we also lose the 4th year of Andersons contract and if Melo declines we lose the last 2 yrs, so essentially with a bad although not terrible contract (Ryno)we trade it for a Hall of Famer and save 1-2 yrs on that contract, really smart financing.

    Well our defense would be pretty bad & you'd have 3 stars that are used to being the number 1 guy. However, I'm on board with it if we don't have to give up Capela or Gordon.

    When was it said that a team would need 2 1st rounders for Anderson? Who said that?

    Crawford has worse value. Ryno is at least a useful stretch 4 in his prime. Pierce is retired, and Rivers is just a decent role player. The Knicks were about to take that for Melo with no problems.

    Agreed Melo is a whole grade better than Ryno, but you have to account that his personality is a lot bigger. Melo as the 3rd guy? It'd have to be a different Melo walking through that door for me to believe he'd be cool with that. I'm down for the risk though, not going to sit around and watch the Warriors win everything effortlessly for the next 4 years.
