I'm pretty sure any offer he gets the bucks are more than likely to match it.

Morey was apparently hot to upgrade the PG position at draft-time and I don't see why he would have given up on that.

I would love Sessions on this team, he'd be great, a real point guard who can run the break and dish out assists. And "mysterious third team" can't help but make you wonder about the Rockets and how Morey plays his cards close to the vest.

But any chance of landing Sessions would involve a sign and trade using one of these scenarios:

    (1) Sending Lowry and Cook and taking back a Milwaukee player making about $2,000,000 using the Steve Francis trade exception (to offset BYC implications

    (2) Same scenario as (1) but involving a third team somehow

    (3) A bigger trade involving some combination of Tracy, Lowry, even hometown Milwaukee Landry and getting in return Sessions, Michael Redd, and maybe another player.

Problem is, for (1), we're already in lux tax area; (2) is seldom likely; (3) Redd is coming off injury problems of his own.

Ricky Rubio is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of player. He's the kind of guy who can be a REAL franchise player on a team. It's not about upgrading the PG spot; it's about getting Ricky Rubio. Had he been a SG, SF, etc, Morey would've almost certainly done the same thing.

So he's a redundant version of Kyle Lowry? Sessions went .176 from 3 point land this year. His percentage was higher last year, but he only played 17 games. I like the guy, but unless the Rockets are dumping Brooks or Lowry, he's redundant.

Bumping this thread since all the Ramon talk is in the Anderson Presser thread.

I really do think that is him, it is just killing me to not see anything on the web or anyone else really back it up...

Would LOVE Sessions on this team. We would really solidify the pg spot.

    Sessions/Brooks perfect
    Tmac/Taylor ehh
Battier/Ariza i like but needs to be adjusted
    Scola/Landry perfect
    Andersen/Dorsey unfortunate yao situation

Why does everyone think Ariza is coming off the bench? He's obviously the better player we also basically promised him a starting spot.

You're right but I didn't see Battier losing his starting spot either. And that's also why I think that spot needs to be adjusted.

    SF should be Ariza/Budinger

and imo we need to trade Battier, with is value being high right now, to fulfill our other needs such as C and SG. man, i'd be all over that old trade rumor of Battier for Flopzilla and Fernandez.

If only the Blazers would do that. I'd hate to have a hard worker like Shane waste one of his great years on a lottery team--8th seed team.

I wish one of the mods would merge the last half of the Andersen presser thread into this thread, because it exclusively deals with Andersen shaking hands with some player whose profile (and who one poster here) tells us is Ramon Sessions.

It would be awesome to get the guy, but I was wondering, even if we gave up Lowry or whomever to get him, wouldn't Sessions' new contract be subject to the BYC rules for a trade? If yes, it would make for some complications; although, if the guy is already working out with the team, such complications would seem negligible.

Why would sessions be in a practice uniform though? No player is missing from the original roster

I would love to have Ramon Sessions if he came in a package along with Michael Redd and we would be able to send Tracy McGrady away for both of them. I'm sure we would probably have to trade our current PG tandem with Lowry or Brooks, I would suggest Lowry since similar to Sessions he's a pass-first PG and lacks a jump shot. Sessions is not a bad idea, but it's nothing to get pumped up about, I would only get pumped up if Michael Redd came along with him.

Wait, what's going on with Sessions and the Rockets? I have been gone for a couple of days.

Can someone explain to me what's happening?

    Are we getting Sessions?

    lol.

while its debatable whether acquiring ramon sessions should be cause for jubilation, having to take back michael redd in a deal would be sufficient buzzkill for opposing the entire thing.

Some believe the guy shaking hands with Andersen is Sessions. Personally I don't buy it but whatever.

I think a Sessions/Brooks point guard tandem would be great. I guess that would make Lowry expendable in a trade. Barry, Cook, Lowry, a pick...? :)

not basically, we DID, it would make no sense bringing him in at full MLE and

not starting him, i don't know where they are getting that from.
