[rQUOTEr]BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that guard Rajon Rondo underwent successful surgical fixation of a left metacarpal fracture this morning at New England Baptist Hospital. The injury was a result of a fall at his home last night. The surgery was performed by Dr. Hervey Kimball and Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon. Estimated timetable for return is six to eight weeks.

Rondo, a 6’1” guard, appeared in 30 contests (all starts) for the Celtics last season and averaged 11.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.33 steals in 33.3 minutes per game. He recorded a season-high 22 points against Atlanta on February 26, a season-high 11 rebounds against Philadelphia on April 4. On March 9 against Detroit, Rondo recorded 18 assists and zero turnovers, passing Bill Russell for fifth highest assist total in Celtic franchise history.

Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge, Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens and Rondo will be available to media at Celtics Media Day at the Celtics Training Center at Healthpoint in Waltham on Monday September 29 at 2pm.[/rQUOTEr]

I think I remember people saying his large hands contribute to his poor shooting. Are they going to make his hands smaller so he can shoot better? :p

All kidding aside, get well soon, Rondo!

It would be awesome if we had a guard with those numbers....

    That shooting percentage though...

smokescreen just so nobody questions why they're holding him out of training camp/practice and so forth as the trade is finalized....

I joke... but I bet I could throw out this garbage on twitter, while claiming to be an insider, and blow it up... lol ;)

and Morey leans forward and slowly pulls the Pelicans pick back...

pauses for a moment, cocks his head, and again leans forward and pulls KPAP card back...

leaving Jason Terry, Dmo and a couple 2nd rd picks in front of a dismayed Danny Ainge.... lol

Actually, you stole Rondo's line. Can't we deal for someone who can stay healthy long enough to get to training camp in one piece?
