Raiders follow up a bad trade(acquring Palmer) with an iffy(at best) trade(acquiring Flynn) and they'll be in the market for another QB next year, in all likelihood. Who needs draft picks anyways?

Details of Palmer trade: Cardinals get Palmer, send Raiders a cond't 7th in 2014. Teams swap 6th & 7th this year. If Matt Flynn can't easily beat out Terrell Pryor, he isn't worth a bucket of warm spit. Pryor isn't anywhere near sharp enough to be an NFL starter.

I have no idea what the Raiders are doing, ha.

As I edited and put in above, Raiders follow up a bad trade(acquring Palmer) with an iffy(at best) trade(acquiring Flynn) and they'll be in the market for another QB next year, in all likelihood. Who needs draft picks anyways?

Palmer for Dre Kirkpatrick(1) and TBD(2-this year). Turn around and trade Palmer for a conditional 7th round pick in 2014 and swap of (6th & 7th rd) picks this year.

And then trade 2 picks for Matt Flynn.

    My head is spinning.

I thought this Reggie McKenzie guy was supposed to [help] turn things around?

So they still get a cap hit, even though they traded him? Harsh.

The Palmer trade was done before McKenzie took over, that was Al Davis and the coach Hue Jackmon or w/e his name is

Cards are desperate. Palmer will do nothing for them they need to go for the #1 pick next season and try to build around a real QB.

    That is correct.

The new Raiders brass is cleaning house all around. Dumping all the guys from the previous regime like Carson Palmer, Michael Huff, Darrius Heyward Bey, etc.

Al Davis died a couple of weeks before the trade. They didn't make the trade until Jason Campbell went down for the year (which was after Davis's death), so it was the old regime, but Davis didn't have a hand in it.

McKenzie is dumping salary and next year is lost no matter what. The team fielded will have 6-10 potential but in likelihood will compete for a top 3 pick again.

Maybe better off unloading McFadden too at this point, dude is solid when healthy but he can't read blocks and can't stay healthy.
