I went to the Chron's website and clicked on the link to the Rockets/NBA. There is no information about a health issue, but there is a poll listing the Rocket's primary concerns coming into training camp. They list Landry and Mutombo unsigned and the third choice is Rafer's health. Here's a link. http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets/ Only eleven percent chose Rafer's health, which means either it is not serious or people simply don't know what it is about. Judging by the reaction on the board it is the latter, as no one seems to know anything.
I thought this is what this website is about, to know about stuff before it happens and be able to discuss rocket related issues. if you know something why wouldn't you post it?
Because the entire story is probably not out yet. Someone could get in trouble if they told secrets about the organization before they are covered by the media. A family member wroks very close with higher ups in the Astros organization. I have heard things that if I told, would have gotten them immediately fired.
Well, I am with you on that one. To be clear, I don't know anything. Maybe the survey on the Chron was about his injury and surgery. I don't know how people on these board can say there is an additional health problem for Rafer when there isn't a single link anywhere about it. Honestly, if you know something and don't want to share it for privacy reasons, then you shouldn't say anything. It is a bit ridiculous to post something saying Alston has a serious health concern and then cite privacy as a reason for not sharing what you know (In other words, we could have all been fine not knowing why Rafer was on that plane). Even if you can't share what you know, you can at least say in general terms what your source or reason for believing that is. Otherwise, all it leads to is endless speculation and frustration, as it has on this board.
they don't have to say just give us something to wear we know how bad or how long he might be out just give us something to ease our mind.
What? lol plz dont say that... I hope rafer is okay though. Get well soon if something is wrong! I was always a fan rafer!
my friend is from the same neighborhood as rafer he speaks to some of rafer's clsoe friends in nyc i tried i couldnt do it i'm as terrified as anyone else is i hope he is fine
Feigen responded to me about Rafer today. My question: There is a rumor that Rafer was flying to Minnesota this week because of a "health scare." Do you know anything about that? His response: (He seems fine. After his physical last week, he was sent for more tests this week. So far, they have shown no issues. He is expected to be ready to practice on Tuesday. The last few of the tests were done late yesterday afternoon, so I suppose there could be more results to come today. But as of last night, there was no concern. Also, thanks for the kind words. I am way overdo for a new blog entry but have been catching up on Rockets issues so that it will actually be about something. Tomorrow for sure. -- Jonathan)
