Too funny Senator (LOL)! It's a good thing that Rafer can't shoot because the guy would really be dead!
lol..some of these posters are We live in a society where people LOVE to judge and pass judgment. Quick to put people in categories (thugs, punks, gangstas) I'm not rich and don't know what it is like to be rich and famous. I don't know what it's like to sneeze the wrong way and have the media air that wrong squeeze to the world for every one to judge the fizz and snot left behind. What I do know is that people lie to gain an advantage and every black athlete that gets into an altercation is not a thug. GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT. Rafer might be guilty, but all the witnesses (that's a key word) says other wise, but he's a thug and probably did it because he spit on a parking attendant because his 100,000 ride was towed? I don't know if any of you have a car worth 100 grand, but if you do I'm sure you wouldn't be too pleased if your ride was towed after leaving club....AND YOU PAID TO PARK THERE. Hell I damn near had a aneurism a few years back when my Chevy got towed downtown near the courthouse and I paid too! (parked where the damn ass attendant told me too and towed me anyway) I wasn't pleased that day and it would not have matter if I had 50million or 50 bucks in the bank at the time.....when something like that happens to humans, they react. So don't be so quick to judge someone when you know damn well many of us would have reacted similar. No, maybe you wouldn't have spit or shaken someone, but there are other ways to draw the law enforcement your direction.
if this is true its a shame really on rafers part. sure he favorite coach who gave him minutes is gone and the rockets then go get 3 players who all play the same position as him but there was no real definite release by morey or adeleman saying rafer wouldnt be the starting pg next year. sure they did try to trade him but thats is because his contract was the best trading piece the rockets had and still have at the time. hopefully this is completely false and he does at the very least stop putting himself in these positions where accusations can be hurled to him. at this point if the rockets are able to get a late first round/early second round + small TE for him it would be a coup imo
Yea YOU PAID TO PARK THERE, but Alston DIDN'T. Also not "all the witnesses" reported. The parking attendant, and the guy who got "slashed," had their witnesses, too.
If Rafer can't return to the NBA this year because of leagal troubles will his contract be terminated or will he still count towards the salary?
We're talkin about RA getting out Houston or not?! Maybe he got mad and hits ppl around cuz they want him traded!!! watch out RAFER IS NEAR BY
Really doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.... Pretty crappy off-season for Rafer though. Two charges against you, two - maybe three - new players take over your job, and likely stuck for at least half the season...
rafer seems like an ok guy so i'm going to assume he's innocent, and from what i've read so far, it seems like that's the case.
You're right, Rafer might be innocent, and yes, we as a society are quick to pass judgement. But that also applies to the GM and owners of other clubs. Rafer is killing his trade value, and that's bad for the Rockets no matter how you look at it. I just hope we can get something decent for him after all this.
Unbelievable. What a complete downward spiral he's in........ Just think if the Francis signing didn't work out and we weren't able to pull off the Howard for Mike James trade. We'd be riding up sh*t's creek without a paddle.
This whole story is suspect. First the bounce and witnesses didn't see the guy with any injury, nor did he go to the police first, but later on he reported. Could it been the guy got injured by someone else and then figured better to go after the NBA star instead? Also, as much as I dislike Rafer, he's not a punk. He doesn't even seem like the kind of person that would carry a knife much less use it. Who knows though. Still for now I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
