said it once i'll say it again, stop going out bad things are happening when you go clubbin,at least for awhile, either way, trade him!
morey picked up that phone long before rafer started getting in trouble with the law. but he didn't want doleac from miami.
Morey is not a gypsy, he can't predict the future. How many of us knew Rafer was going to slash a guy's throat this summer? Did you? No sir....A BLUNDER is something you do when you have all the facts staring in front of you to make a no brainer decision...and you go and draft Mario Williams.
We had Francis, James, and Brooks as PG options. And we had another combo guard with Luther Head. Rafer Alston really had no place on the team with all those options at our disposal. Furthermore, Alston was apparently sulking all offseason, and we know that he has a history of mental instability. Factoring all of that, I'm convinced that the plan was to trade just before the season starts. Now, that may be just a wish. I'm curious what offers were made by other teams.
Right, but that doesn't mean Morey made a blunder by holding out on trading him. I'm sure Morey was just waiting to get a better return than what other teams were offering at the time. From what I can tell, Morey had a strategy...but Rafer went and screwed it up for him. Rafer is the real BlUNDER here.
You guys don't get it. It doesn't matter if he is innocent in this case. The fact is, he IS in trouble. He got arrested and is reported in the media. I am not blaming him or anybody. It's just a fact. His stock is falling like a rock. THAT is what matters to us Rockets fans.
what do you mean "us Rocket fans" ? Like we're not Rocket fans? I understand what you are saying....the bad press is not good for the team and is hurting his trade value. I get that and agree but to say it doesn't matter if he is innocent or not is a stretch, we're talking about this man's life. If this victim is accusing him of a crime he didn't commit (very possible too) then how is he in trouble and how is it his fault? Because he was club'n?
Honestly, I really don't understand all of the consternation being expressed about Rafer's latest misadventure because the majority of the folks here wanted him off the team ASAP. He looks to be done as a Rocket so let it go.
i personally am happy this happened. i don't like rafer. i don't like rafer.....and o ya!!! I DON'T LIKE RAFER!!! last year was his time to show up or shut up. with franchise, who mike james, and AB on board, and with v-mac out and maybe jl3 possibly out, we don't need rafer's game anymore. last year everytime he threw up a 3, i held my breathe. if i would have died from holding my breathe, i would have done what the other 2 guys tried doing to him, and try and get his money also. note to rafer..........get out of town!
I can see a situation where Everyone in the League knows that the Rockets have to unload a point guard. And everyone is trying to stick it to the Rockets. Morey did his poker face and he was holding pat. But Rafer Alston doing his entourage thing was probably something that was not being expected by the Rockets. Stabbing people and beating up parking lot attendants isn't something you associate with NORMAL people. Morey did nothing wrong.
don't worry. His stock was negative even before all the accidents. Too bad, JVG could not be hired as a coach in NBA or he can use Alston.
But..but...Rafer's $5 million a year for 3 more years is such a good bargain that teams were supposed to be knocking down our doors for him !
Too bad we can't go back a month and trade his for Doleac's expiring...if he acts this way on the streets he definantly could cause chemistry problems in the locker room. Hopefully all of this isn't his fault likes he says.
