He is not a reliable shooter, period. I like Alston's everything but shooting. To the best interest of Rox and their fans, Rafer should defer all the shooting to Head, if possible. By the way, JL3 is more impressive on his penetration and lay-ups.
GRACIOUS ALIVE!!! Ive been waiting for this post. I NEVER understood the Rafer Alston trade. He makes me throw up in my mouth a little he's so bad. Notice when he's making 3's they are when we are already ahead. He cant hit a three to change the complexion of a game (unlike past winning point guards Kenny Smith, Sam Cassell, and even, Scott Brooks). Rafer is a front-runner period (P-E-R-I-D; as Shaq would say).
I know that Alston played poorly in the last game but Rafer needs to be Lynched, isn't that going a bit too far?
Incase you never noticed- he does it in every game- Rafer runs down the court, finds himself open and takes shots. Invariably he misses!!!!! He does shoot well when he is standing still, open and ready to have the ball passed to him. He has a tendency to loose his mind and thinks he is the second coming of McGrady. This indicates that he is not a good playmaker or team player. However there is a possibility that all these problems are brought about by JVG's instructions.
Action speak louder then words. I have no words to describe how bad Rafer BLOWS!!! I change my mind about him being benched though. He should be just released!

Successful Scenario Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
