At least now we can have 3 point guards, if one sucks got to the next one until we find the one who is hot. maybe is Rafer, maybe Aaron or BJ. 3 chances better than 2.
That is good new. Rafer or Skip to my Lou knows how to handle the rock and he can shoot the three. Do the same fan that on 22 streak show up tomorrow?
"Alston may return to the Rockets lineup for Game 2 on Monday night in Houston. Even if he does, the Jazz already have the Rockets at a disadvantage and looking at another first-round exit courtesy of their Utah rival." Wow, the NBA was promoting that win streak to us like it was the most amazing thing ever to happen and now they have us at a disadvantage after losing game 1... just like Utah did last year. We're not down 0-3 or even 0-2 there Mr Article Writes. Granted it was a road win for them this year, but who's to say we can't beat them at least once in Utah as well? We did it earlier in the season...
WE definitely need rafer. on one play last night in tha 2nd half with novak on tha floor, it took us 13 second to finally get a play started. I seen that and switched tha tv off. i knew that possession was a failure. we also need Head(as a scorer only) Adelman needs to use Head like Karl uses JR Smith. He says when Smith comes in for Denver all he wants him to do is concentrate on scoring. Not facilating or anything else: just scoring and gettin to tha basket. And its worked out beautifully. But yeah i welcome back Rafer with open arms, for now. I also welcome back Bonzi
personally... i think they'll win game 2...both RA and TMAC sounded so optimistic in the post game conference...
I think it's been obvious that you're not a fan of Rafer, but come on - be fair. Rafer's biggest problem has always been his ability (or lack there of) to shoot, but he creates for others on this team better than any other point guard and better than anyone else not named McGrady. The biggest concern about putting Bobby Jackson in was that Jackson looked for his shot first unlike Rafer who looks to pass first. Critique Rafer all you want, but try and be fair with the critiques...
Really? I really though our pathetic interior defense and lack of rebounding is what really lost that game for us.
If we have Alston tomorrow then we have a good chance to win that game. He is our best point guard and with bobby jackson coming off the bench will help with the scoring. Any updates?
I've been 50/50 on his value to the team, but the points people have made here make it clear that the team is better with him at this point. I.e. Bobby being shoot-first, and Aaron being a rookie the most notable points. Let's hope is good to go, and so is the rest of the team.
I realize tomorrow's game is pretty damn important and Rafer will open up all kinds of offensive opportunities for the entire team, but I really don't want him to get injured any worse than he already is in the case that we extend this series past five games and even deeper into the playoffs. I'm torn about this situation but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I'll remain optimistic about it all since there isn't enough of that going around.
This is the playoffs, we're down 0-1...we've lost homecourt advantage. You can't look down the road...we have to win now, that's the end of the story. Nothing to be torn about. If Rafer gets injured more tomorrow - it sucks...but you know what sucks more? Going down 0-2 heading to Utah...
Bobby Jackson being shoot-first AND 35. He's a 20-25 minutes a game player even in his youger days. He hasnt been a 30 minutes a game player since his rookie year, and hasnt come anywhere close to that since. Relying on him extended minutes gets you what we got in game 1. I'll gladly take Rafer back. Wouldnt count on him to be effective (since he hasnt been so in the playoffs even when healthy), but it'll be relief for others.
