Rafer for Lowry and Cook; looking back 1 year later

Last year, having Rafer might help the team more. But this year and in the future, the trade is a genius work by Morey.

 

I admit that I was extremely upset that we traded Rafer at that point. I thought he was playing great in the system, and he had the ability to get the ball to Yao, which was a problem at times. He also played great in Orlando until Nelson returned.

Now, hopefully Rafer can get it together and make a team next year.

 

I was pining for Lowry before Morey traded him..............yeah, really.

Morey and I are on the same page when it comes to understanding the value of a guy that gets to the FT line a ton.

 

The difference is the ratios between 3pt FGAs, 2 point FGAs, and FTAs. Lowry's TS% is 15 - 20% greater than Alston's.

 

Lowry attacks the basket and takes on contact.

Rafer would contort his body to avoid contact as much as possible.

Lowry is better than Rafer in every way.

They are both poor shooters, but Lowry is a better player, and great backup PG.
