    That's very good news.

Rafer needs 1 minor incident with law in summer so he knows the summer party is over. It's time to go back to the gym and prepare himself for the coming season.

No this is Houston, where people drive around high shooting semi-atuomatics.

The founder of Madd didn't get a DUI but she did get kicked off the board. She stated that her purpose was to curtail deaths like her daughters and not to prohibit alcohol. MADD disagreed and fired her and has since gone wacko or MAD if you will. They would like to see zero tolerance at some point. The fact is lowering alcohol tolerances from .1 to .08 has not decreased alcohol related deaths. There is a limit to everything and the punishment for border line intoxication has been far surpassed.

I don't know if Rafer was stupid drunk but the biggest problem I see now is he was just starting to get accepted as an acceptable PG and leader for the team. The last thing he needs is to be stupid again.

Well it's two factors. Rafer had issues last year (even though it seems the majority of the people don't recognize that both charges against him were dismissed due to surveilance footage and witneses) and he's a Rocket. He was arrested on SUSPICION of DWI so let the facts come out before you fry the guy.

Phelps didn't get crucified. That's true. I'm not going to be the one to do it either. He's a young kid who made a mistake. To minimize him into just a guy who swims is pretty ignorant though. He's one of the best athletes we'll probably able to witness and is already one of the greatest Olympians of all time. He deserves a ton of respect.

Bottom line is everyone makes mistakes. Driving drunk is stupid as well as a lot of other things people do. Wait until the facts come out though before you start killing the guy.

Just curious, does this mean you're not a Hunter Pence fan either? What about Craig Biggio?

I'll be interested to hear people's responses to this. I wasn't going to do it because I'm a fan of Pence's and Craig's but since it's out there............

I am not a Craig Biggio fan for reasons completely unrelated to DWI...

Biggio was just as stupid and reckless. He also apologized and never let it happen again.

Last season he supposedly stabbed a guy and came back better than before. He could have killed multiple people this time, so I'm thinkin' allstar this year. He's like the Hulk, and his rage is attempted murder.

Well dang, looks who is back...Rafer, the summer act.

However, he was only accused of DUI so let's not jump the gun.

Right on, just add him to the list: Vernon Maxwell, Rudy T, Scottie Pippen, Carmelo Anthony, JJ Redick, Demarr Johnson, James Posey, Chris Wilcox, Vin Baker, Rod Strickland, Kwame Brown.

Not to condone what he did, but it should not be a distraction for the team. He'll get his fine and community service, and hopefully learn to take a cab from now on.

As long as he wasn't 'bating while he was driving its not necessarily an indictaion of anything...too soon?

Didn't the same thing happen last summer?

Someone needs to get Rafer something to do during the summer.

Yeah, I'm surprised by the dearth of media outlets that are reporting on this.

No. Last year he was coming out of a club with friends when they were towing his Bentley. He had been drinking but the attendant tried to lie and say Rafer pushed him. He went crazy and summoned the police. Witnesses and surveiloance proved Rafer's side and the charges were dropped.

In NY someone was just trying to make money off him. Some guy said Rafer stabbed him and the cameras from the club showed Rafer leaving before the incident even happened.

So, he was not charged with anything. Just falsely accused by people trying to make a dollar off him. That's the way things work nowadays.

He was released on $500 so that means he has no previous DUI's. It has never happened before. He was also only booked under suspicion of DUI.
