"Need to stop the DWI c@#p. I am still paying after 14 years for some old drunk driver's out on the town. My back and neck have never been the same since that night

Now, I know a lot of them get pulled over for DWB and I know that is true, but he needs to be more responsible than that.

he could have got a DUI instead of a DWI

Don't bother. You are up against a group who was raised by MADD and likely spend Saturday nights at home alone.

I don't know how the hell these people got me not caring to hear about Rafer getting a DWI totally warped into me and my friends riding around drunk and me defending DWI's.

Those are not things that i agree with. Drunk driving is wrong. My "care" for it is on the same level with many other violent crimes. I will do the things that i can to prevent them from happening but when it affects some one i don't know i won't disrespect them by feigning interest, just like i didn't want others to do when i lost my father.

I'm amazed at the cavalier attitude some people here have expressed about drunken driving. They wouldn't think that way if someone they loved died in a wreck caused by a drunk driver. But some people aren't smart enough to see this, and have to learn the hard way. To not be able to see this indicates to me that a person is immature, lacking in respect for others' lives and just not the sharpest tool in the shed. I like beer, but I know how irresponsible, and plain dumb, it is to get behind the wheel when you think you may have had too much. Grow up and call a cab. Or walk. If you want to say Alston is human and made a mistake and he's still a valuable member of the team, fine. But don't act like driving drunk is no big deal.

    Drama Queen!
Don’t tell me you have never got behind the wheel after having a few drinks. If you even try you are a liar or one of the few that hasn’t. You are legally over the limit if you drink 3 drinks in an hour. The police could (and sometimes do) sit outside a nightclub anywhere in the united states at closing time and give out DWI after DWI. Its easy to judge other people how about yourselves? He made a mistake he’ll pay for it. Its his personal problem people should let him deal with it and not judge him.

Dude drunk driving is serious. Crazy stuff happens when you're drunk. Good thing he didn't hurt anyone but can't say it's any worse than his stabbings.

Those who say drunk driving's no big deal and make cracks about being raised by MADD ought to just turn in their driver's licenses right now. They're not adult enough or intelligent enough to have a license, and I sure as hell don't want them on the road endangering my daughters. The funny thing is, they don't get it: You can party all you want, as long as you don't get behind the wheel. The irony is, MADD wouldn't even exist without people like you.
